ELECTION 2022: Find Out More About Special Council Candidate Veratheape’s Goal For The DAO

The ApeCoin DAO Special Council Election season ends today, and the community is about to determine who will be on the board in 2023.

After weeks of campaigning the $Ape community is set to select three new Special Council members to join Yat Siu and Alexis Ohanian on the ApeCoin DAO’s board in January 2023.

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported the ApeCoin DAO selected Veratheape, Degentraland, Gerry, Herb, and BoredApeG to be its Special Council nominees during the first round of voting last week.

To find out more about the five candidates, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to each of them this weekend and asked them three questions about the DAO and their goals going forward.

Take a look at the Gazette’s interview with Veratheape below:

1: Why should the $Ape community vote for you?

“The community should vote for me for two main reasons: I can offer perspectives from Asian communities with my deep understanding and experience of community building around the world. I will work to create a framework for successful DAOs by contributing lessons I learned from my participation in several DAOs.”

2: What are your thoughts on AIP 183 being rejected? As a Special Council Member What do you plan to do going forward?

“It is unfortunate that this happened, but I think it is something we would have had to go through at some point. ApeCoin DAO won’t be a DAO that stops running because it does not have Cartan. I would want to remove the single point of failure and have the community own the DAO if I get elected.”

3: If elected, what’s your top priority and what do you hope to accomplish?

“The first thing I want to push is to expand the ecosystem by hosting hackathons and establishing partnerships. Building the ecosystem is a long journey and it is the only way for a token to be sustainable. It took Ethereum 4 years to really build the ecosystem and I believe this goal is something that we should prioritize. There are transparency, DAO engagement, and rebranding issues I want to help solve but those can be solved along the way of building the ecosystem. •Another important thing to me is DAO structure change. To remove single point failure from the DAO and be able to have a structure like DAO 2.0

The polls for the ApeCoin DAO Special Council election close at 9 P.M. EST tonight. You can cast your ballot here:
