ELECTION 2024: Brazy Is Running For ApeCoin DAO Marketing And Communications Working Group Steward

With 15 years of the marketing experience, a couple approved Ape Improvement Proposals under his belt, and a lot of bored building around the swamp and $Ape ecosystem, Brazy is running to be the ApeCoin DAO’s next Marketing and Communications Working Group Steward where he hopes to create a brand direction and set a tone for $Ape going forward.

Things are anything but boring in the $Ape ecosystem this week as ApeCoin DAO Contributors head to the polls to cast their coins and elect two Special Council members, two Governance Working Group Stewards, two Web3 Development Working Group Stewards, a Marketing and Communications Working Group Steward, and a Metaverse Working Group Steward to $Ape office!

As $Apes start to vote, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to every candidate from every race and asked them for their final thoughts on the Banana Bill, what he hopes to accomplish, and making ApeCoin fun.

Check out the Gazette’s interview with Brazy below:

1. In a sentence or two why should $Ape holders vote for you?

“I’ve got over 15 years experience building brands for clients, but would love nothing more than to combine my experience with the passion I have for Web3 and put all my focus into building ApeCoin full time. I have a background in design/creative direction and led design teams in the agency world, and I bring a wealth of experience to seeing the big picture of building a brand out end to end. I’ve been a committed member of the DAO since day one, and feel I’d be a strong asset to the existing team and future of the brand. Long story short, I’m a degen at heart with a skillset and passion that would fit in seamlessly to help push the ApeCoin brand forward and have fun while doing it.”

2. What is the biggest issue facing DAO facing the DAO when it comes to commutation and how do you plan to address it?

“My bread and butter is in brand building. Right now I feel there is a disconnect with the ApeCoin brand as a whole. Any time anyone touches the brand, it creates a bit of an identity crisis. I’d like to bring structure and guidelines to how we position ourselves as a brand, both visually and verbally. Both internally as well as within partnerships and collabs. As we build out ApeChain and have builders and rapid community growth within our ecosystem, we will need alignment on the overarching brand direction to make sure everything feels consistent and cohesive. Plus a little bit of degen Web3 flavor to make us uniquely us.”

3. What is one tangible thing that you want to accomplish if elected?  How will it impact the DAO?

“I bring a wealth of experience building brands from the ground up. I’d love to go back to square one and work with the existing team and Working Groups to get aligned on where we want the brand to go. From social media tone to how we present ourselves at IRL events and conferences, my goal would be to bring a full end to end creative direction and brand tone to follow. This would benefit not only the internal ApeCoin team, but the community at large - the current community, past and future AIP authors, and builders on ApeChain. I’m currently working on a V1 brand bible with current MarComms Stewards Popil and Linstro, but it will need constant dedication and passion to continue to grow it as the brand evolves.”

4. What are your thoughts on the Banana Bill? How would you market the bill to make it a success?

“The Banana Bill is going to be the biggest undertaking within the DAO to date. As Bruce Buffer says, this is the moment we’ve all been waiting for. Since day one, ApeCoin has strived to be the token of Web3 gaming and culture, and I can’t wait to see what gets created under the ApeCoin umbrella on ApeChain. In terms of marketing, the biggest piece will be finding our unique voice and angle that sets us apart from other chains and positions us as the go to. We have an insanely dedicated community, and can’t wait to see what gets built when the community becomes empowered.”

5. How do you plan to make ApeCoin fun?

“Lose the suit and tie, and put on the unbuttoned Hawaiian shirt. The reason BAYC found such success was because it went against the grain. Middle finger to the status quo, counter culture. Once we find our unique voice, there’s nothing I’d love to do more than be a part of the charge to amplify it and form campaigns and creative that not only represents the past and the present, but the future of the ApeCoin brand.”

6. Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?

“I’ve been a passionate member of the DAO since inception. Dating back to mission statement brainstorms, Working Group Zero, Ape Assembly, and everything that’s come since. I feel like I’ve got a solid grasp on the current brand challenges and the Web3 landscape in general. I’d be ready to go from day 1 with very little onboarding needed. If I don’t get the official role, I’m not going anywhere, and still plan to be involved as much as possible with building out the creative direction and brand voice of ApeCoin. Really appreciate anyone who’s taken the time to reach out via DMs, ask Qs, and vote - the support means a lot.”
