FORGING AHEAD: Farway Gaming Studio Acquired The Maras& HV-MTL Collections From Yuga Labs Today!

The Otherside's mystical Maras and the temperamental HV-MTL Mechs are forging a new path forward with a company not far away from the swamp, after Faraway Gaming Studios announced that it acquired these collections and would be continuing to tell their tales while finding ways to connect these collections with the broader metaverse!

Things were anything but boring around the Bored Ape Yacht Club on Wednesday after Faraway Gaming Studios, which has been building Dookey Dash Unclogged for Yuga Labs and collaborating with the expanded Yugaverse company Novel Labs to create Serum City, announced its acquisition of the Legends of the Mara and HV-MTL IP from Yuga Labs.

“Big news to share: Faraway is acquiring HV-MTL and Legends of the Mara,” the company announced this afternoon. “We’re incredibly excited to take this IP to new heights by building on the strong foundation that Yuga has created. That starts by rewarding the community. Keep an eye on your metadata today. As a first order of business, we’re rolling out a new points system for HV-MTL and LoTM NFTs."

Faraway went on to explain that Yuga Labs’ former Chief Gaming Officer Spencer Tucker will be joining the company as its new Chief Product Officer and that the entire Faraway community looks forward to welcoming HVs and Maras to their ecosystem, while also ensuring that these assets always have a home in the expanded Yugaverse.

“We’ll be working closely with Yuga to ensure synergy and interoperability, which means more benefits for all of you,” the company wrote. “There’s a lot of work ahead of us, and we look forward to receiving your support and input to deliver great stories, experiences, and activations for this new chapter.”

 

Following today’s announcement, Yuga Labs CEO Garga took to Twitter and assured Maras and HV holders that Faraway Gaming Studio was a team of doers who will serve these assets well, while also explaining that this move will help Yuga Labs focus its gaming efforts on the Otherside going forward.

 

“This move is one step in making sure Yuga’s gaming focus is razor-sharp on 3D Otherside, so we can be telling stories and delighting people (fast) there,” he said. “I’ll have more news to share on that front soon. But know that while HV-MTL and LoTM will have their own futures under Faraway, we look forward to building out an interoperable future in Otherside for them.”
