FROM DIAPERS TO DIGITAL RELICS: BAYC Member SeanNana Finds The First Of The Final Daniel Arsham Voyager Bots On Otherside While Taking Care Of His Newborn!

From diapers to digital relics, Bored Ape Yacht Club member SeanNana was in full dad mode today when he became the first player to find a Daniel Arsham Voyager allowlist spot during Otherside’s scavenger hunt event!

On Friday, 500+ players took to the metaverse in hopes of finding one of the final Daniel Arsham Voyager allowlist spots that could either be redeemed for a new Voyager Bot designed by the contemporary artist or sold on the secondary market for well over a grand.

 

 

One of those players was BAYC member SeanNana, who was also taking care of his newborn child at the same time.

“I dropped into the experience solo dolo, but not necessarily by choice,” he said.” I saw people grouping up and strategizing, even limiting parties to 20 since only 20 Arsham Voyager passes were available to mint. I was about to join in, but I was on solo daddy duties with my newborn who turned out to be my good luck charm."

 

From the beginning, SeanNana had two places he wanted to check for the book: underneath the Pulse District, which he searched before the game reset and everyone respawned, and the Crystal Biome beneath the Starfield Gallery.

“Daniel Arsham’s work has involved crystallization, and you would've known that if you visited the Starfield Gallery,” he said. “Figured that'd be a clue. Once I glided into the Crystal biome, I saw people searching all around it. Instead of searching broad, I decided to go deeper. I entered Fortune’s Rise V and started the challenge.”

 

That hunch turned out to be gold for SeanNana as he made his way through the challenge, which was already difficult but got even harder as his kid started getting fussy.

“As I got closer to the top, I saw it. A Koda statue holding a bowl of Soma with Daniel Arsham’s Future Relic book sitting on it," he said. "My heart started racing. At the same time, my newborn was getting uncomfortable on my lap, so time was of essence. I scaled high enough to glide across and reach the relic and claimed an Arsham Voyager pass.”

 

Alone inside the Fortune’s Rise V challenge with an Arsham pass in his digital hands and his child there with him IRL, SeanNana took a screenshot commemorating the moment, which he could only describe as something out of Ready Player One.

“The entire minting experience felt surreal and emotional,” he said. “I was only half prepared for how intense it would feel in the moment. There couldn’t have been a better relic for this kind of experience than an Arsham Voyager. I’m a fan of Daniel Arsham and his work, and I wasn’t selected during the original mint, so this one was special to me. One of the most epic experiences I’ve had in Otherside yet.”

 

Word that SeanNana had found the first allowlist spot spread fast across the Nexus as Pixl Pals, CryptoBulliez, and the PsillyHeads crew saw his claim onchain and quickly made their way over there!

 

“I believe word got out that I found it because I was outed onchain,” SeanNana said. “Bulliez knew I found it so when he saw me on the treasure chest, he figured it'd be in that area.”

 

Hours after claiming the first of the final Arsham allowlist spots, SeanNana made his way over to the Starfield Gallery, minted an Alabaster bot, and couldn’t be happier.

“What made the experience so powerful was there were elements of discovery, emotion, competition, story, community and ownership all tied together.. in real time,” he said. “A lot of industries are still trying to figure out how to make things feel this meaningful and fair when distributing a limited product… feels like Otherside is on to something special here.”
