From winning big years ago to making history today, a Bored Ape Yacht Club member just made the first major sale on the Club’s brand new peer to peer marketplace!

Four and a half years after BAYC member Doodler spent a week straight grinding the Apes Vs. Mutants mobile game to win a rare 1/100 “Glass Vase” collectible that may or may not serve any purpose and totally isn’t a bong, he officially sold the item on the Club’s new P2P marketplace for 15,000 $Ape to none other than the ApeCoin intern in what was the site’s biggest sale yet!

“It's a bittersweet sale as I do see it as one of the best pieces of BAYC merch they've made and the fact I won it through gaming makes it that bit more special,” Doodler told the Gazette. “I've always hoped BAYC would lean more into merch as when I first found out about them what came to mind was a Supreme type hype brand but with token access. So when I heard rumblings of a p2p marketplace I was quite excited having collected some exclusive items over the years.”

Right after BAYC officially opened the new P2P marketplace for business, Doodler got to work listing some of his grails.

“I took a gamble and listed it above the eBay glass vase floor and it paid off,” Doodler said. “I'm  really happy to be a part of one of the first bigger sales and leave my mark on this new era. The fact ApeCoin bought it too reassures me it's going to a good home!”

Looking ahead, Doodler told the Gazette that he’ll probably roll this 15,000 $Ape sale into picking up a Koda and that he looks forward to selling a few more grails on the new P2P platform.

“The marketplace as v1 is really easy to use, could use some refining and quality of life nice to haves such as bulk listing, better categories, recent sales etc. but it does it's job for now,” he said. “I also listed some of the rarer sealed golden banana bicycle decks I got when my ape was featured a few years back!”

The Gazette will continue to follow the new P2P marketplace and keep you posted on the biggest and most bored sales around the swamp. Stay tuned for updates!
