Five Bored Apes minted, five years in the best club on the internet, and now five very rare cigars! This Bored Ape Yacht Club member isn't blowing smoke when he says he's bullish on the swamp.

On Friday, Bored Ape Yacht Club member Truth got some good news in his inbox after learning that he was one of just 50 Apes selected for the opportunity to purchase the club's limited edition cigar set, created in partnership with Scandinavian Tobacco Group.

“As 1 of 50 lucky winners of the limited Bored Ape Cigar Box, I feel so incredibly blessed and fortunate,” Truth told the Gazette. “I minted 5 Bored Apes on May 1st, 2021. Never sold, never left, never lost conviction in the community and in Yuga and it has definitely paid off. Holding Bored Apes is the alpha. Cheers to 5 years and many many more!”

After winning the chance to purchase this cigar set, Truth told the Gazette candidly that he's never smoked anything in his life, but he plans to make an exception for these BAYC inspired cigars and already has some ideas about when he might finally light one up.

“I've actually never smoked anything in my life but if I ever do it will be these BAYC cigars for sure,” he said. “ It would have to be during a very special occasion, possibly my son's wedding day, my 20 year wedding anniversary or maybe share it with fellow Apes at ApeFest 2026!!!”

As the Gazette previously reported, unlike past drops that required everyone to ape in at a specific time, this cigar collaboration utilized Yuga Labs' new weighted raffle system, with winners selected based in part on what they hold and how long they have held it.

“In an effort for OGs to get preferential access to limited drops we're going to put weights on this raffle,” Yuga Labs CEO Michael Figge tweeted last week. “What you hold should matter and hold time should matter.”

Based on a collector like Truth getting picked, the weighted raffle appears to have accomplished exactly what Yuga Labs intended, rewarding long term holders who have been around since the early days!

The Gazette will continue to follow Truth and will let you know when he decides it's time to puff, puff, primate. Stay tuned for updates!
