Ten months ago, Dev purchased his first Mutant. Yesterday, he won another, just for showing up like he always does.

Last week, the Bored Ape Yacht Club turned five years old, and to celebrate, the Other Games crew teamed up with ApeCoin to give away a Mutant Ape.

Hundreds of people entered for a chance to win the pink fur primate, which ultimately went to a relatively new club member named Dev, who’s been making an impact every day since joining the club on July 1, 2025.
“When I got my ape I had no intention or hard skills to build something, but this community man it pushes you to create,” Dev said. “When you become an ape and meet awesome people in the community you immediately start to feeling the vibes and day by day your vibe matching theirs. When you talk about an idea, they instantly building on it and support you with their whole skillset as much as they can.”
Dev went on to launch the Otherside Photography Club just two months after joining the BAYC, a group dedicated to capturing and showcasing the best moments from around the swamp and the Nexus. In fact, he even made history earlier this year by helping host the first ever art auction on Otherside.
"It wasn’t planned, it was just an idea and community support made it happen,” Dev said “I just had to push the button.”
Week in and week out, Dev has shown up, supported his frens around the swamp, and participated in everything happening on Otherside, including Other Games’ weekly events, becoming a familiar face in the process.
And that dedication paid off when his name was randomly called during Other Games’ MAYC raffle yesterday, officially making him the winner of the pink primate!
“Ladies and gentlemen we have a winner,” Other Games Co-Founder HoneyB said after randomly pulling Dev’s name. “congratulations”
“I'M ON TOP OF THE WORLD RIGHT NOW,” he tweeted. “I literally shook when the news hit me! I didn’t even know this feeling existed before I experienced it. I dreamt about being an ape for a long time, and when I finally managed to become one in July, it felt like I came home to my people. And damn, I couldn’t have been more right. Since then, everything has been magical. I found myself drowning in creativity, surrounded by incredible people whose vision expanded mine, and that vision changed my life. I find myself enjoying life more and more every day.”
The Gazette will continue to follow Dev as he keeps showing up around the swamp, building his photography club, and cementing himself as a staple of the community. Stay tuned for updates!
