FROM SWAMP TO STREAMING: Yuga Labs CEO Garga Reveals That The BAYC Anime Will Be A 6–8 Episode Series!

Forget a standalone film, the Bored Ape Yacht Club’s anime is shaping up to be a full series!

On Thursday, Yuga Labs CEO Garga stopped by the Bored Ape Yacht Club’s weekly Meet at the Clubhouse Bubble Space and shared new details about the club’s highly anticipated animated project, revealing it’ll be an episodic series that’s made for streaming!

“We are looking to do this for a major online streamer,” Garga said. “Think 6-8 episodes of 28 mintues, that's the goal right now.”

 

 

Today’s reveal follows another recent update from Garga about the show. Two weeks ago during an OtherGames Space, he explained the project is still in its early process and that the team is focused on getting the story right before moving forward.

“Its early days right now,” Garga said. “We are just working with writers. We want to include people in on the process for sure, but right now we are just in the development process. With stuff like this, you really want to make sure you got the story down packed before you get going.”

 

 

As the Gazette previously reported, Garga first announced that Yuga Labs was working on an anime series in collaboration with MachiBigBrother’s Six Studios during ApeFest in October 2025.

 

 

“We’re thrilled to share our first collaboration with Yuga Labs, the team behind Bored Ape Yacht Club,” Six Studios’ THE LINE wrote on YouTube. “The BAYC team came to us to produce a teaser for a secret project they’ve been cooking up. We love early-stage development and were stoked to be part of it. Huge thanks to the amazing crew we worked with on this project. We’re so proud of how the final film turned out.
