Clutch Markets is about to turn this year’s World Cup into an onchain trading card experience, and everyone can ape in tomorrow afternoon!

With the 2026 World Cup coming up, Clutch Markets is inviting Pixel Pups holders, along with members from 20 other NFT collections, to score packs of its new Pup Cup trading cards, giving everyone the chance to show off their soccer knowledge and trading instincts with the goal of winning millions of the project’s native $K9 token!

“People already pick countries, argue about players, chase narratives, and live through every match like it matters,” Clutch Market Founder 0xSimpleFarmer wrote. “This game is the perfect companion and entry to crypto for new users. The Pup Cup brings that behavior onchain and connects it directly to Pixel Pups and $K9 This is the type of product we believe NFT communities need more of….Something that gives people a reason to trade, collect, speculate, and actually pay attention together.”

Simply put, “the Pup Cup will essentially turn Opensea secondary into a Prediction Market like Polymarket for the World Cup,” 0xSimpleFarmer teased.

The Pup Cup collection will be made up of cards representing 48 countries and 44 positions, with 40 special boot cards scattered throughout packs as well, for a total of 2,152 Pup Cup NFTs.

Pup Cup cards will initially be sold in packs of four for 150,000 $K9 for Pixel Pups holders and 250,000 $K9 for everyone else. Any packs still available after 24 hours will then go up for sale as individual NFTs for 80,000 $K9 per pack.

"Each card is its own NFT. Each card is tied to a World Cup country, position, and kit type,” SimpleFarmer explained. “These cards are meant to be collected, traded, staked, and used throughout the tournament. The World Cup becomes the game board and your Pup Cup cards become your position on the field.”

As the Gazette previously reported, as matches play out next month and fans get a clearer picture of which countries are contenders and which are pretenders, the value of certain country cards could rise and fall as participants position themselves for a shot at the Pup Cup prize pool.

“This is what makes the product different from a normal mint. The cards are collectibles, but they also become live tournament positions, SimpleFarmer wrote. “50% of all mint proceeds go into a pot for holders of the country that wins the World Cup. If you believe a country can win, the play is simple. Get exposure to that country.”

The Gazette will continue to follow tomorrow’s Pup Cup mint and will let you know who scores big during the tournament. Stay tuned for updates!
