GAME OVER: ApeCoin Spotlight Top 10 Finisher Allo Chose Not To Play The Intern’s Game. Now Someone In The ApeChain Ecosystem Will Spin The Wheel Of Fate And Win A Bored Ape!

Like in Saw, when Jigsaw famously asked his unwilling participants, “How much blood will you shed to stay alive?” the ApeCoin intern posed a question of his own to this season’s Spotlight winners, were they willing to risk their prizes for the chance at floor sweeps, their fellow winners’ loot, or even a Bored Ape? The answer from one participant was no. So now, the Wheel of Fate will not spin this round, and a second Bored Ape prize will instead be going to a lucky winner from the broader ApeChain ecosystem soon!

It was game over around the swamp on Tuesday after ApeCoin Spotlight Season 2’s 2nd place finisher, Dev Allo, declined to risk his Gold Go-Bag prize and spin the Wheel of Fate with the other nine top ten finishers, ending the first round of the ApeCoin intern’s twisted game before it even began!

“The fate of Spotlight’s Top 10 is sealed,” the ApeCoin intern tweeted. “@dev_allo has declined to enter Spotlight’s High Roller Round. Was he Brave or Did He Make a Mistake? Either way, the community wins. A BAYC will be sent to the Multiball pool. Oh, Yes. There will be blood. 8/18/2025”

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, this decision was part of ApeCoin’s Wheel of Fate game, which will give everyone who participated in Spotlight Season 2 this summer the chance to win prizes like Apes, Otherdeeds, and more!

“Wheel of Fate is a twist on rewards distribution for the ApeChain community,” The intern explained in a Medium Post. “Wheel of Fate uses Proof of Play’s vRNG (Verified Random Number Generator) to determine winners to ensure fair draws. Participants are separated into rounds based on their placement on the Spotlight leaderboard as shown below (You can participate in every round your placement is in the range for.”

With Allo’s decision, he and the other nine Spotlight Season 2 top-ten finishers will walk away with the prizes they won last month, and the Bored Ape they could have competed for will now be up for grabs in the Wheel of Fate’s Multiball Round, which begins on August 18th.

"Each wallet that participated in Spotlight: Simply Built Different will be able to mint several Multiball NFTs per day,” the intern wrote. “Come back each day to mint your multiball NFTs, if you do not mint during a day you forfeit your allowance for that day. Ten Multiball NFTs can be turned in for one spin of the Multiball Round. Once a player spins they will receive an NFT (either a Prize Voucher NFT or a No-Prize NFT), which will then be removed from the Wheel. Multiball and Prize Voucher NFTs may be sold on the secondary market.”

In total, 1,391 prizes ranging from 10 $Ape to 1 Bored Ape will be up for grabs.
