GET TO THE TRENCHES: ApeCoin CEO Cameron Kates Explains Why The Team Is Bringing $Ape To Solana!

Get to the trenches! ApeCoin’s Project “RAID” is about to storm Solana as $Ape goes crosschain, opening new opportunities for holders to hyper-financialize their tokens and bring a whole new audience into the swamp.

On Monday, the ApeCo team hosted a Space to talk about Project RAID, short for Rapid ApeCoin Integration Deployment, a new initiative to turn $Ape into a true culture coin. The rollout begins with ApeCoin going live on Solana later this week, because that’s where the users and energy are.

During the Space, ApeCo CEO Cameron Kates, AKA HeadApe, explained why expanding $Ape’s reach beyond ApeChain and starting with Solana, was a “no brainer.”

 “You got 500 degens in this space right now. Everyone of us, whether you hold ETH NFTs or not, has messed around on SOL and has seen it grow from that 2020 cycle,” Kates said. “It’s got a consumer audience. It’s got really interesting experimental protocols, and at the end of the day there’s just a ton of $Ape’s already here… It’s a no brainer for us and I got to shoutout the Solana Foundation for being great partners…We feel the love, and we hope to show it right back to the Solana community.”

 

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, once ApeCoin is live on Solana, 20+ dApps and protocols are slated to roll out integrations. These include staking in Meteora’s liquidity pools, collectibles on Drip Haus, trading benefits on Quanto’s perpetuals market, sending $Ape via tweets with Banker, and more.

“The whole thing with RAID for ApeCoin is that it’s a compounding circle,” ApeCo’s Head of Defi 0xSimpleFarmer said. “ These protocols, these initiatives they all work together to amplify trading volume, mind share, user base for ApeCoin. And that’s why this is going to be a winning strategy. Right? We’re now in a new mindset. The mindset is perpetual winning machine for ApeCoin.”

 

As ApeCoin expands its reach, Kates reiterated that ApeChain is still their top priority and said that the swamp will always be $Ape’s home.

 

“Hell no, there will be no less focus,” Kates said. “Everyone here already knows we’ve been making big hires expanding the team, it’s all part of the plan. There is no down time. There is no down shift. We are going to focus just as much on the ApeChain community as we always have and now, we got a whole new community to service as well. Little less sleep for all of us and a little more fun for all of them.”

 

Tonight we do not yet know exactly when ApeCoin will go live on Solana but it is expected to happen later this week, according to the team.
