Here Gato, Gato! A clowder of 1,999 Ape Gato Club cats are looking for homes on ApeChain after Bored Ape Yacht Club member Bullmktrich and ApeChain artist TJ The Creator teamed up to create a kitty collection with a cause, raising funds for cats battling cancer!
The idea for the Ape Gato Club originally came to Bullmktrich during ApeFest 2024, when he noticed the many stray cats roaming Lisbon.
“While in Lisbon for ApeFest all the stray cats were the initial inspiration they were all strays and the whole town of Lisbon looked after them like their own,” Bullmktrich.
Beyond the inspiration abroad, both Bullmktrich and TJ just love cats, and thought they’d make the perfect companions for Mutant Apes, the same way Bored Apes have their Doggos.
“Excited it’s finally out and proud of the art I created for this project,” TJ The Creator tweeted. “First pfp collection I’m part of and love everyone’s support if you like cats haha check it out.”
Each Gato costs 13 $Ape to mint. While the collection is “no roadmap, just vibes,” Bullmktrich confirmed that a portion of the proceeds will be donated to a charity that supports real-life cats with cancer.
“We will be donating some funds to cat cancer as charity because we believe in helping our felines.” Bullmktrich said
