IRL IS THE ALPHA: Yuga Labs' IllaDaProducer Says BAYC Clubhouse “Is Fucking Beautiful”

The Bored Ape Yacht Club turned five years old earlier this week, and amid all the minting stories, meetups, and memories, Yuga Labs’ Community and Partnerships lead IllaDaProducer dropped a bit of  information on what’s next, revealing that he’s already walked through the highly anticipated Clubhouse.

On Thursday, longtime BAYC member GratefulApe hosted a nearly five hour long Twitter Space, where Apes old and new came together to share their journeys to the swamp and what made them ape in.

The vibes were immaculate, the stories were top notch, and while the community looked back on five years of the club, IllaDaProducer stepped up to share a glimpse of what’s ahead, with an update on the BAYC’s Miami Clubhouse.

“I’ve definitely seen it already, did a walk through,” he said. “It’s fucking beautiful. Apes are going to be super excited. Yeah it’s a super vibe. Its dead center of mother fucking Wynwood where all of the foot traffic, all of the motion, and all of the vibes are… To me its crazy that it’s in a better location that the Soho houses in Wynwood. Which is insane because once we have our headquarters in the middle of the most popping spot in Miami, as far as art and culture and foot traffic, because the beach is super tourist. I feel like its even better in Wynwood because Wynwood is the art district. And of course we’re a project that’s founded in digital art. Its two stories. Its fucking amazing. We have a members only area. None of this is alpha, this is stuff we promised.”

As the Gazette previously reported, the idea of an IRL clubhouse has been in the works for years, first teased as part of the BAYC Roadmap 2.0 back in September 2021.

Then at ApeFest 2025, Yuga Labs Co-Founder Garga officially brought the vision to life, announcing that the clubhouse would be coming to Miami and calling it a new era for the BAYC.

“Picture it like this,” Garga said. “You show up to the concierge desk and show them your BAYC black card with embedded NFC tech You’re going to need that because there’s parts of the clubhouse that are accessible to everybody and parts that only you can access. Behind the concierge desk, there’s a liquor locker, each with an Apes number emblazoned on the label. If its during the day, maybe you stop by the café or the library. A cozy spot to scroll, read, and trade, checker bored tiles and brass fixtures. The walls are lined with BAYC archives and signed posters. Or maybe you step outside to my favorite part of the club, into the heart of the clubhouse, the tree bar. A sculptural oak canopy that rises over the rooftop. This is where live music happens and where whisky flows from cask’s marked BAYC. For dinner  you head into the dining room. Its meant to evoke an everglades supper club or secret society. Deep green banquets, palm pattern wall paper, and custom plates and glassware that you guys are going to definitely fucking steal. Behind there’s a painting of Curtis in the dining room, there’s a door. You push it through and you’re in the speak easy. Billiards. Records. Game tables. Cozy shit. Look, we got and incredible design agency, VT Pro, helping make sure that the clubhouse is the right mix of luxurious and cozy, with BAYC all in all of the details. We start construction in January.”

To get a better idea of the aesthetic the BAYC is going for, holders can also look back at the project’s ApeFest teaser trailer here:

Tonight, we do not know when the Clubhouse will officially open, but its safe to say that its coming ‘soon.’

The Gazette will continue to follow all things BAYC and will let you know when more information about the Clubhouse becomes available. Stay tuned for updates.
