ISLAND APE: The ApeCoin DAO's Mascot Is Now A Playable Character In The Nifty Island Metaverse!

After a summer of building ApeChain, ApeCoin DAO's lovable mascot, Apekin, is taking a break on Nifty Island—where anyone with at least one $Ape in their wallet can now play as the island's newest character!

Apekin is now an island primate after the ApeCoin DAO announced that its mascot is now a playable avatar in the Nifty Island Metaverse.

 

“Happy to announce that you can now play as ApeKin, the @ApeCoin DAO mascot in @Nifty_Island,” ApeCoin DAO Metaverse Working Group Steward Dim.Eth tweeted this morning. “All you need is to have a wallet holding at least 1 $APE connected to your account. Thank you to the Nifty Island team who made it possible to use an ERC20 token to unlock content. This is just a very first step on what I have planned for our Nifty Island presence… Powered by @ApeCoin.”

 

 

At this time, we don’t know exactly what Dim and the DAO are planning for Apekin on Nifty Island, but we do know that Dim has aimed for $Ape to have a presence in every metaverse since he was elected as the DAO’s first Metaverse Working Group Steward in December 2023. "My approach is Metaverse agnostic and involves working on several others," Dim tweeted in January 2024 when asked if he’s looking beyond Otherside.

 

as the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the ApeCoin DAO approved the creation of an $Ape mascot in August 2023. Since then, the robotic primate has appeared at conferences, ApeFest, and in various DAO marketing materials, including their final tweet graphics!
