Chimpers might be home for Christmas!
Four months after the Chimpers sold out their first ever Blind Box drop, the project emailed buyers on Sunday to announce that shipping will begin soon and to give everyone their first look at the plushie primates!
“Since the pre-order in July, we’ve been working closely with our factory to fine-tune every detail. The built-in NFC tech required extra engineering time, and we went through multiple sample rounds to make sure Chimpi looks, feels, and hangs exactly the way we envisioned,” the project wrote. “The good news: production has been underway, with all final details now locked. We’re currently in the final packaging phase, and everything is moving smoothly. We expect production to be fully completed in under 2 weeks, after which shipping will begin!”
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the Chimpers Series 1 Blind Boxes were created in collaboration with J-Corps and contain one of several different Labubu-esque Chimpers keychains, each equipped with an NFC chip that links back to ApeChain. Some Blind Boxes will also come with prizes like Chimpers digital cards, ApeCoin bonuses, or even an ApeChain arcade machine!
Looking ahead, the Chimpers team has big plans to continue building with its Blind Box partner, J-Corps, and find new ways to onboard the masses.
“This pre-order is just the tip of the iceberg, we have some very big plans to leverage JCorps distribution network to take the next big step for Chimpers into the offline world,” Insight Chimp told the paper. “So this online pre order is a key moment for web3 and communities to rally around Chimpers as we make another success story with the goal of onboarding not just Web3, but our whole Web2 audience of over 1.7 million followers into this journey!”
