JOB’S NOT DONE: After Saving $6 Million Worth Of NFTs In A White Hat Rescue, 0xQuit Is Preparing To Get Them Back To Their Rightful Owners

After pulling off the biggest white hat rescue in NFT history this morning, saving more than 23,000 NFTs worth over $6 million, the job isn’t done. Now comes the next step, getting every rescued NFT back to its rightful owner.

What could have been one of the biggest hacks in NFT history was averted Friday morning thanks to Yuga Labs’ Head of Blockchain, 0xQuit, who discovered a vulnerability in Limit Break’s Payment Processor contracts that were used by marketplaces like Magic Eden and OSWiki, and moved thousands of at risk NFTs to safety before bad actors could get to them.

Now, roughly 12 hours later, 0xQuit is preparing to return the rescued NFTs to their rightful owners through a new claim portal that will also help ensure affected wallets have revoked allowances from the vulnerable smart contracts.

“Little dry run period: https://nftsaresafu.xyz check what you have claimable,” he tweeted. “If you see anything that looks incorrect, please let me know. Will open claims based on the same snapshot after a few more QC runs. 25k NFTs so please be patient.”

While thousands of NFTs were saved during today’s white hat rescue, 0xQuit is still urging everyone to check their approvals on Revoke.Cash and make sure any approvals granted to the following spenders are revoked:

Ethereum:0x9A1D00bEd7CD04BCDA516d721A596eb22Aac6834

ApeChain:0x9a1D00000000fC540e2000560054812452eB5366

Tonight, Revoke.Cash also rolled out a new frontend that lets users check whether their wallets were impacted by the exploit and revoke any affected approvals. Check it out below:

The Gazette will continue to follow this exploit and will let you know when collectors begin getting their NFTs back. Stay tuned for updates!
