KILLERS WANTED: ApeCoin Rebrands Special Council As Business Development Council, Extends Nomination Period, And Encourages Dealmakers To Ape In!

The Special Council is dead. Long live the Business Development Council!

It’s out with the old and in with the new in the ApeChain ecosystem, as the Special Council has officially been renamed to reflect its revamped mission, growing $Ape through business, not governance.

With election season in full swing and a ton of Apes and $Ape holders announcing their candidacies and platforms, Ape Foundation CEO Cameron Kates took to the timeline Monday to announce the name change and clarify the role!

As of today, the Special Council is now the Business Development Council, and according to Kates, the DAO isn’t just looking for figureheads. It’s looking for the best of the best $Apes who can close deals and make ApeChain great.

“The role is for people with the skill, insight, strategy and willingness to work deals and partnerships that make APE more valuable and the ecosystem more badass,” Kates tweeted. “Anyone running on a platform of transparency/community relations is thinking of the old duties.”

 

An ideal ApeCoin Business Development Council candidate is someone actively helping grow ApeCoin and ApeChain while engaging with the community. This person may have experience in business development, partnerships, or strategic roles, familiarity with multiple blockchains, a background in dealmaking, an understanding of the Yugaverse, and maybe even some knowledge of smart contracts!

 

“Special Council is more than a title—it’s about driving meaningful growth, creating bridges between communities and ecosystems, and being a visible, responsive builder in the ApeCoin ecosystem,” ApeCoin Facilitator 12Gauge wrote.

 

Along with renaming the council and reiterating that it’s about business, not governance, Kates also announced that he and his team plan to take an active role this election season, because they want killers.

 

“The Council will be working closely with my team, so my exec team plans to meet with all candidates and then publicly share our recommendations,” he announced. “We want killers in these positions. Either our ecosystem grows or it dies. There’s no room or time for PC bs or election campaigns.”

 

To give everyone more time to ape in, Kates and the ApeCoin DAO have officially extended the deadline to nominate yourself for the Business Development Council by one week. That means you now have until Wednesday, June 4th at 9 P.M. ET to apply!
