LOOKING GUCCI: Some Voyagers Stepped Into Meetropolis In Style Yesterday With Gucci Cosmetic Upgrades!

Some Voyagers were dripped out on the streets of Meetropolis yesterday, thanks to a past collaboration between Yuga Labs and the luxury fashion house Gucci!

Amidst the "guns, mayhem, and jank" that was Project Dragon, some Voyagers were turning heads and looking gucci after activating their Gucci cosmetic upgrades, transforming their Apes’ flip-flops into Gucci slides that left a trail of mystical magic wherever they went.

“The particle effects looked incredible in person and it was so clearly Gucci GG branded which went above and beyond my expectations,” Gucci wearing Bored Ape Yacht Club Member 0xDort told the Gazette. “I thought they may just be sparkles around my ape but they were far more. A really wonderful activation that was so clearly a collaborative effort, I’m proud to roll with them for life in Otherside!”

This Otherside Gucci cosmetic upgrade was part of Yuga Labs and Gucci’s Otherside Relics by Gucci Kodapendants collaboration from April 2023.

Each Otherside Relic by Gucci came with an immediate metadata change to the buyer’s Koda or Kodamara, a physical Gucci x Yuga Labs KodaPendant, and the cosmetic upgrade that 0xDort and others used on the Otherside for the first time yesterday.

Back then, Gucci and Yuga Labs sold 3,019 Gucci Kodapendants in the first of many activations and collaborations between Yuga Labs and the luxury fashion house.

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the two brands announced a multi-year partnership in March 2023.

“We are excited to unveil this multifaceted partnership with Yuga Labs, a leader and creative pioneer in web3,” Robert Triefus, Gucci’s senior executive vice president, corporate and brand strategy, and chief executive of Gucci Vault & Metaverse Ventures, said in a statement to Business of Fashion on March 27th. “This will give us an active role in Otherside and 10KTF’s continuing narrative, unfolding in multiple forms.”
