SEASONAL STYLE: Amazon’s Otherside Avatar Boximus Is Repackaged For Christmas!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas around the Swamp after Amazon’s Otherside avatar, Boximus, debuted a brand new festive fit.

Leave the ugly Christmas sweaters IRL, because Boximus is looking much better wrapped up for the holidays. On Tuesday, Yuga Labs announced that Voyagers can now deck the halls, suit up their avatars, and complete their daily metaverse tasks in seasonal style.

 

 

Following the news, Voyagers took to the timeline to share photos their Boximus bots wrapped in green and red  gift wrap and running around the metaverse. A group of Boximus buddies even got together for a little song and dance.

“All I want for Christmas are my internet frens.” BAYC member AE tweeted.

 

After the update went live, Amazon Gaming Business Development Lead William Morris also shared his thoughts, tweeting that seasonal reskins and small scale activations like this play an important role in building a community.

“Small update. Strong signal,” he said. “Otherside dropped a bit of holiday cheer into the world for Boximus holders- playful, intentional, and community-first. The best ecosystems aren’t built only through big launches. They’re shaped by moments that remind people the world is alive.”

 

 

As the Gazette previously reported, Yuga Labs first announced its partnership with Amazon at ApeFest 2025, revealing plans to sell digital collectibles to Amazon’s more than 300 million users.

“For all this to work, we need to grow, and today we announce that Otherside will be on the front page of Amazon Gaming,” Yuga Labs’ Michael Figge said at the time. “That means we will look like this on Amazon. Amazon has over three hundred million users and we are going to be  selling digital assets to all of them.”

 

 

 

Since then, Amazon launched its Boximus Otherside avatar on October 30th. The 2,222 piece collection sold out quickly, even as many users’ purchases were temporarily flagged by Amazon’s antifraud systems.

“'Nobody is going to want to buy an Otherside x Amazon NFT' Reality: demand was so high that all of Amazon’s fraud/bot protection measures kicked in,” Yuga Labs CEO Garga tweeted at the time mocking Crypto Twitter’s Key Opinion Leaders who laughed at this collab .“Amazon made me go back and set a new password after buying just 1. They are on this 100% with their tech+fraud teams, Amazon are (king emoji) partners. THANK YOU FOR BEARING WITH US We like the box.”

 

Looking ahead, Yuga Labs and Amazon plan to drop even more Voyager bots directly on Amazon and this partnership is only getting started.
