MEET THE CANDIDATE: Aaron Haber Is Running For Special Council!

After the ApeCoin DAO’s resident comedian got his Ape Improvement Proposal to bring stand-up comedy shows to the DAO passed, Aaron Haber decided to take center stage again and run for a Special Council Member position because he’s interested in 'getting shit done.

The winter election season of 2023 is underway at the ApeCoin DAO, with 27 contributors officially running to replace BoredApeG, Gerry, and VeraTheApe on the DAO's Special Council in 2024.

Among the candidates vying for a position on the ApeCoin DAO's Special Council is Aaron Huber.

“I believe I am the best choice for Special Council because I embody the principles of LFG – Leadership, Fairness, and Governance,” Haber wrote on his candidate page. “My journey from the world of comedy to entrepreneurship and Web3 has given me a unique perspective and a rich set of experiences. I’ve actively participated in the NFT space since 2021, consulted on numerous NFT projects, and even pioneered the world’s first Comedy Club Metaverse. I understand what it takes to bring mass adoption to NFTs, Web3, and Ape Coin DAO. I am motivated and prepared to leverage this experience to help the Ape Coin DAO reach new heights and achieve its full potential. Together, we can build a stronger, more transparent, and inclusive community that benefits all members”

To find out more about Haber’s Special Council candidacy, his experience as a comedian, and his thoughts on ApeChain, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to him for an interview. Check it out below:

1. In a sentence or two what is your candidacy all about?

“Getting shit done. I said I was going to get AIP-346 passed and with the help of the community I did. Now, I’m saying if you elect me to SC I’ll help bring about major reform and I will.”

2. When and why did you decide to ape into the Special Council race?

“Early on in the AIP-346 Campaign I thought, oh, this is how this DAO works/could work better. Yeah, let’s get in there.”

3. What makes you the right $Ape for Special Council? How has your past prepared you for this role?

Being a Comedian means I analyze situations, find the faults and communicate the solutions in a way the masses can accept.”

4. What would you like to accomplish during your term?

“I’ll work towards getting everyone together to reform the DAO in substantial ways. The piecemeal AIP approach is harming the DAO. Let’s get large and smaller Holders to the table and agree on some major reforms and know they’re going to pass even before the vote.”

5. Where would you like to see the DAO a year from now?

“Right at the end of November 2024. Anything else would be time travel. But also, a DAO where much more communication exists as well as a steady stream of revenues coming in from the “value” the DAO can now accept.”

6. What are your thoughts and views on an Apechain?

“It’s necessary but not a fix-all and it shouldn’t be the only thing our DAO puts support behind. We can walk and chew gum at the same time.”

7. What’s your favorite book, movie, and show?

Fav Book: Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut Movie: Groundhog Day Show: The Muppet Show

8. Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?

“AIP-346 passing proved that with the help of the community, I can get things done. Give me the opportunity to do the same for the good of the entire DAO.”
