MEET THE CANDIDATE: BojangleGuy Is Running For Governance Working Group Steward

ApeCoin DAO Contributor BojangleGuy is running for Governance Working Group Steward to save the DAO time and money through the introduction of a micro-grants program while also working to further automate the DAO with the goal of making this position obsolete.

The winter election season of 2023 is underway at the ApeCoin DAO, with seven $Apes officially running to be the DAO’s next Governance Working Group Steward. Among the candidates vying for this position is BojangleGuy.

“My real motivation behind running for the steward position lies within my desire and passion for gaming and the metaverse,” BojangleGuy wrote on his candidate page. “As someone who is a gamer and big proponent of the vision of a metaverse, I really believe there is no other organization that is positioned better then the ApeCoin DAO to be the leader in both these respective categories. That vision is what motivates me to do all that I can to ensure we don’t fumble this incredible opportunity we have been given.”

To find out more about BojangleGuy’s candidacy, his goals for the DAO, and why he’s the right $Ape for the job, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to him for an interview. Check it out below:

1. In a sentence or two why are you running for this position?

“#1 - Bring greater Efficiency/Automation to the DAO and its various processes. (save time, save money) #2 - Be open. Communicate often. Listen more than I talk. #3 - Push for the onboarding of as many non-yuga communities as possible.”

2. How would you describe the role of a Governance Working Group Steward? What does this role entail?

“In my opinion the role of a governance steward should be to do everything possible to ensure the governance and operations of the DAO are industry leading. This would include but not be limited to elections, voting mechanics, forum facilitation, grant funding distribution, creating/maintaining/removing policies and procedures, etc.”

 3. Why are you the right person for the job?  How has your past experiences prepared you for this?

“My experience running my own businesses as well as my personal knack for organization and efficiency will transition very well into this role. I have a no BS mindset and can look at things objectively rather than subjectively. I will do what is best for the DAO day in and day out. I have been a part of this community for over a year now and feel like the community knows who I am and can trust my judgment if given this role.”

 4. What ideas or initiatives would you like to enact if elected?

“I would love to see a micro grants program/team get set up. I would also love to see the expansion of the Global Community Counsel. Lastly, I would love to see a major increase in voter participation and/or the amount of ApeCoin delegated.”

 5. If you could unilaterally change one thing at the DAO today what would you change or do?

“I would change the AIP grant fund disbursement process to be an onchain process similar to how Nouns Prop House distributes their grants. Ideally this process would trigger immediately upon the voting window closing. This would more than likely also require a review/change of the grant agreement document with the foundation.”

 6. Where would you like to see the Governance Working Group a year from now?

“I would love to see the Governance Working Group in a place where the community fully trusts our team and the direction we are moving the DAO. I think that will show in voter turnout, discord/forum participation and overall DAO sentiment. In all honesty, the best case scenario would be that we have done our “job” and this role could be dissolved.”

 7. Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?

“Vote BojangleGuy and all your wildest dreams will come true.”
