MEET THE CANDIDATE: Buuvei Is Running For Working Group Steward

ApeCoin DAO contributor and nominee for Working Group Steward, Buuvei, is running for this position because decentralization is in his blood!

The $Ape community is in the middle of the ApeCoin DAO’s second election season and the DAO is voting to fill two Steward positions in its newly formed Governance Working Group.

These two Working Group Steward’s will be responsible for managing their Working Group Multisig, operational tasks, maintaining documents, organizing and approving initiatives, communicating with the Ape Foundation and DAO Secretary, approving budgets, executing their Working Group Charters, among other things, according to the DAO.

Among the candidates vying for a Working Group Steward position is ApeCoin DAO contributor Buuvei.

"If the whole point is decentralization of the DAO, I am the most decentralized person you will ever meet,” Buuvei wrote on his ApeCoin DAO Discourse nominee page. “Mongolia became a capitalist democracy in 1990, a year after I was born. Ever since then, it was in my blood to fight for the community as well as unite everybody’s involvement. DAO is the Web3 version of what I believe. It is in my blood."

To find out more about Buuvei and his decentralization goals the DAO, Bored Ape Gazette reached out to him for an interview. Check it out below:

1.How did you get into the ApeCoin DAO?

“I was a BAYC holder since mint, and still MAYC to this day. After the $APE airdrop, and staking began, I used to read all the documents, analyze it, and spread the knowledge. I knew the Ape Foundation will be the next big thing to empower others in the community. This year I made an effort to contribute on the forums and Thank Ape. So I was always a member of the DAO, but looking to give back and contribute more actively now with tangible results.”

2. In a sentence or two, why should the community vote for you?

“I really do hope you vote for me. I never forget the people that supported me from the start, and my early collectors will tell you that. One day, I will be a leading figure in the space, and I hope that journey starts with the Governance Working group, an area where I am highly passionate and have great interest to learn, which is proven by my Corporate Governance training & certificate I received in 2022.”

3. If elected, you’ll be one of the first three WG Stewards. How do you feel about that and what kind of foundation would you like to help set?

“People may not know this yet, but the biggest initial action of the WG group is to create the budget. Being experienced and educated in finance, I know how budgets work in and out. From creating simple spreadsheets, to five year business plans, I have done them all, and reviewed hundreds of them from teammates. I read IPO prospectuses on my free time, just think about that.”

4. Where do you see the WG framework a year from now?

“I want to see more systematic structure. Having a certification in Organizational Development, we are now in the early steps where a few lead the others. We have to get where we lead ourselves. And how do we do this? It will be by implementing a simple strategic planning tied to KPIs that incentivize our community while holding people accountable.”

5. What would you like to accomplish as a WG Steward?

“I would like to serve the community more, and in a cooperative way. There are some negative sentiments towards the foundation or DAO where members think a few people hold power with their vote and position. If I make it, I would be a role model for all the underserved communities and individuals.”

6. What makes you different from the other candidates?

“As I said in my NFT NYC speech, it is not the job that needs to be get done, it is the person doing it. Once, a goal, or deliverable is on my to do list, I work hard to accomplish it with success. If you look at the timeline I went through, and the story of my achievements in the NFT space, no one will argue that I had done the impossible.”

7. Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?

“The ape community has changed my life, and now I want to give back to them in the best way possible, which is governance, that benefits and protects all the stakeholders.”

The window to vote in the ApeCoin DAO's Working Group Steward election opens on June 15th, and $Ape holders will have until June 21st to cast their votes and support their preferred nominees. After the first round of voting, the top five nominees with the most votes will proceed to the second round of voting and officially become candidates.
