MEET THE CANDIDATE: Evil Is Running For A Spot On The ApeCoin DAO's Discourse Facilitator Team

ApeCoin DAO Contributor and Discourse Facilitator nominee, Evil, thinks they’re a good fit for the ApeCoin DAO’s Discourse Facilitator team.

Election 2023 is heating up around the swamp as 14 ApeCoin DAO contributors threw their hats in the ring and announced their candidacies for ApeCoin DAO's Discourse Facilitator team earlier this month.

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the DAO approved of the creation of a three-person, community led, Discourse moderation team last month when it passed Ape Improvement Proposal-240.

This team will be responsible for “overseeing the proposal process, moderating discussions, enforcing rules, and promoting positive community engagement based on DAO-approved guidelines,” according to the DAO. Each Discourse team member will serve a three-month term and will earn $8,000 USD per month.

One of the candidates running for a spot on the Discourse team is ApeCoin DAO Contributor Evil AKA RageOfPotato

"As someone who has helped numerous people mentor and onboard NFT and web3 all together, I have extensive experience in facilitating communication and understanding between diverse groups of individuals and ideas," Evil wrote on their ApeCoin DAO Candidate page. "I am able to analyze and identify common goals and interests, and provide clear and effective communication that promotes collaboration and fosters positive community interactions. I can help build a community that is engaged, informed, and supportive of the project’s goals. Overall, my combination of community skills and APE specific knowledge make me an excellent fit for the role of Community Discourse Facilitator."

To find out more about Evil and why they think they are good for this team, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to them for an interview. Check it out below:

1.In a sentence or two why should the $Ape community vote for you?

“I’m someone who is ready to commit 100% towards the community. Was also one of the first people to get a chance to be onboard Working Group 0 and vote for Stewards since I was one of the active users of forums.”

2.What made you want to run for Discourse Facilitator team?

“People told me that how I would be a perfect candidate for the role, that’s how I got to know about the opening in the first place.”

3. What sets you apart from the other nominees?

“My past experience as Ambassador in Makersplace, my strong leadership as founder of Cryptoart India Collective and DAZE, where I help create a community of artist back in 2020 when NFTs were known as Rare Digital Art. I have onboarded numerous people into NFTs, going as far as sponsoring gas fee of numerous artist even during peak bull run. I can handle steep timeline and work perfectly under pressure.”

4.What do you hope to accomplish during your term?

“I think that Apecoin DAO is still in its early phase before we get the first 1000 active users and contributors. Being part of the DAO at this stage will be a huge learning experience for me as well as change the perspective of people who are currently outside the DAO.”

5. How did you get into Web3 and NFTs?

"Back in early 2020, I got an email from Makersplace Staff to get onboarded as an artist on their platform. Rest is history."

6. Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?

"Vote for EVIL! I dont have any fancy words but my past experience says for itself."
