MEET THE CANDIDATE: KarmaPocket Is Running For Special Council

ApeCoin DAO contributor and Special Council nominee, KarmaPocket, is looking to bring his past experience with DAOs to the $Ape office and encourage more value creating Ape Improvement Proposals going forward!

The election season of 2023 is in heating up at ApeCoin DAO, with 21 contributors officially running to replace Yat Siu or Alexis Ohanian on the DAO's Special Council this summer.

Among the candidates vying for a position on the ApeCoin DAO's Special Council is ApeCoin DAO contributor KarmaPocket..

“As an early BAYC holder and ApeCoin community member since day 1, I care a lot about the development of ApeCoin DAO,” KarmaPocket wrote on his ApeCoin candidate page. “I want to contribute with my experience and knowledge that I gained from both running a proper DAO and startup to the ApeCoin community. I see ApeCoin DAO having potential to incentivize even more talents to bring in high-quality proposals, especially proposals with innovation, proper execution plans, and measurable deliverables. I want to serve on the Special Council because I want ApeCoin to bring more positive impact to the whole crypto space."

1.How did you get into the ApeCoin DAO?

“I received airdrops by holding BAYC and MAYC when ApeCoin DAO first launched.”

2.In a sentence or two, why should the community vote for you?

“Being the only candidate who is a full-time DAO founder and builder in the past 18 months, it shows my conviction, knowledge and experience on DAOs is unparalleled. I will contribute to special council with 100% efforts.”

3.What would you like to accomplish if elected?

“Encourage having more AIPs that can bring in true values to the DAOs. A few key points here : 1. AIPs that have measurable values. 2. Make sure the budget approved are wisely spent 3. Encourage a more performance based culture in the DAO.”

4. Where do you see the DAO a year from now?

“ApeCoin DAO become the role model for DAOs in both governance and innovation.”

5. What makes you different from the other candidates?

“I’m the only candidate with experience founded a DAO with proper legal structure and running it full-time. I can bring in first hand DAO experience from different areas: Governance, strategy, budget, execution, community building, ambassador, event organizing, content creation and partnerships.”

6. Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?

“It’s time to bring in member like me with high level DAO building experience to the Special Council. I’m a leader value the importance of integrity, transparency and accountability. Supporting Karma means supporting for fresh perspective that can bring in change to the special council. A change of more true value being created to all ApeCoin holders.”

The window to vote in the ApeCoin DAO's first round of Special Council voting opens on June 15th, and $Ape holders will have until June 21st to cast their votes and support their preferred nominees. After the first round of voting, the top five nominees with the most votes will proceed to the second round of voting and officially become candidates. The DAO will then conduct one more election from June 22nd to 28th, during which the community will elect two Special Council members to replace Yat Siu and Alexis Ohanian on the board.
