ApeCoin DAO contributor and nominee for Working Group Steward, SSPNFT AKA Grumpy, is running for $Ape office to build upon the foundation that Working Group Zero laid and set a positive example for what a Working Group can be!
The $Ape community is in the middle of the ApeCoin DAO’s second election season and the DAO is voting to fill two Steward positions in its newly formed Governance Working Group.
These two Working Group Steward’s will be responsible for managing their Working Group Multisig, operational tasks, maintaining documents, organizing and approving initiatives, communicating with the Ape Foundation and DAO Secretary, approving budgets, executing their Working Group Charters, among other things, according to the DAO.
Among the candidates vying for a Working Group Steward position is ApeCoin DAO contributor SSPNFT.
“As an ApeCoin DAO OG and a firm believer in Progressive Decentralization, I am deeply committed to empowering the DAO and unlocking its fullest potential,” SSPNFT wrote on his ApeCoin Candidate page. “I firmly believe that a successful DAO is built on collaboration, inclusivity, and a shared commitment to the greater good. I am running for the position of Steward in the Governance Working Group because I recognize the critical role that effective governance plays in the success of any organization. I am eager to contribute my skills, expertise, and experience to ensure that the ApeCoin DAO’s governance processes are transparent, efficient, and aligned with the community’s vision. I bring a unique perspective that will help continue to drive the DAO’s governance initiatives forward. I am well-versed in best practices for governance and have a keen eye for ensuring fairness, accountability, and transparency in decision-making processes. By serving as a Steward, I am committed to fostering an environment where all community members have a voice and can actively participate in shaping the future of the DAO. 1.How did you get into the ApeCoin DAO?
“After NFTNYC in 2022, everyone was asking "wen ApeFest?" I thought it would be great to have a Flagship IRL Event Powered by ApeCoin -- so I've been an active member/author for over a year and currently number two in the all-time stats in Discourse.”
2. In a sentence or two, why should the community vote for you?
“Governance experience gained in other DAOs is reason #1, this experience should not be underestimated. Time spent in the ApeCoin DAO is reason #2 and it’s a super-power that is more valuable than many realize. Think culture-fit, nuance, understanding of our history, etc.”
3. If elected, you’ll be one of the first three WG Stewards. How do you feel about that and what kind of foundation would you like to help set?
“I actually recognize the 8 Stewards from WG0 as the OG Stewies in this DAO and if elected, I’d be focused on building on the foundation that they set. I’d be thrilled to continue their efforts and to work with Amplify, Lost, Vulkan, Webslinger and the Special Council moving forward.”
4. Where do you see the WG framework a year from now?
“Long-term, I see Working Groups as the highways within our DAO: Expressways for new members to find their lanes, pathways for existing members to connect and scale and plenty of off-ramps to roads less traveled. Sorry, been reading The Network State.”
5. What would you like to accomplish as a WG Steward?
“Number 1, everything that the job description dictates. Number 2, make the Governance Working Group a possible role-model for future WGs and to do my part to help make the ApeCoin DAO the best fricking DAO in Web3!”
6. What makes you different from the other candidates?
“I think all the candidates would be great and could do the job. That said, there are only two or three of us who have significant time spent in the ApeCoin DAO and there’s only one or two of us who bring DAO Governance experience to the role.”
7. Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?
“Sure. Governance is a crucial aspect to any successful DAO. It’s the connective tissue that touches almost every activity in the community. At this early stage of the DAO we need the right people in the right seats on the magic bus. Sorry, been reading Good to Great.”

The window to vote in the ApeCoin DAO's Working Group Steward election opens on June 15th, and $Ape holders will have until June 21st to cast their votes and support their preferred nominees. After the first round of voting, the top five nominees with the most votes will proceed to the second round of voting and officially become candidates. The DAO will then conduct one more election from June 22nd to 28th, during which the community will elect its two Stewards.
