MEET THE CANDIDATE: TigerIsFine Is Running For Working Group Steward

ApeCoin DAO contributor and nominee for Working Group Steward, TigerIsFine, is running for office to stress-test the DAO's structure and bring some feminine energy in an effort to help rally the $Ape community!

The ApeCoin DAO is in the middle of its second election season and the DAO is voting to fill two Steward positions in its newly formed Governance Working Group.

These two Working Group Steward’s will be responsible for managing their Working Group Multisig, operational tasks, maintaining documents, organizing and approving initiatives, communicating with the Ape Foundation and DAO Secretary, approving budgets, executing their Working Group Charters, among other things, according to the DAO.

Among the candidates vying for a Working Group Steward position is ApeCoin DAO contributor TigerIsFine.

"I am honored for the opportunity to nominate myself as a steward for the Governance Working Group,” TigerIsFine wrote on her ApeCoin Nominee page. “With a strong conviction for decentralized ecosystems and a passion for web3 development, I aim to contribute to ApeCoin’s leadership in this space. I recognize the potential for growth and experimentation within decentralized governance, and I am committed to fostering a network built on community and culture. By leveraging my expertise and collaborative mindset, I will drive impactful decision-making, nurture inclusive discussions, and support the success of all stakeholders. Together, we can shape the future of decentralized governance and achieve remarkable milestones."

To find out more about TigerIsFine and why she is the right $Ape for the job, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to her for an interview. Check it out below:

1.How did you get into the ApeCoin DAO?

“As a mutant holder, $APE was airdropped to me. Since then, I’ve been having fun experimenting with its different uses. As for the DAO, some of the lady apes that I look up to have been active in the DAO since the beginning and I learned a lot through their experiences and efforts. You can’t underestimate the value of small group discussions where you feel safe and comfortable to learn together and exchange ideas. I started actively contributing during the first Special Council elections to help highlight the female nominees through hosting Twitter Spaces and have continued leading ApeCoin related discussions with the @LadiesofBAYC.”

2. In a sentence or two, why should the community vote for you?

“The responsibility for the Governance Stewards is to ensure that the DAO is running smoothly in the background. I’m a project manager who has been coordinating, budgeting, and getting across the finish line for 9+ years. I’m an active contributor to the web3 ecosystem and understand the value in building with/for my community.”

3. If elected, you’ll be one of the first three WG Stewards. How do you feel about that and what kind of foundation would you like to help set?

“It’s exciting that we get to be at ground zero and help build out the framework of the DAO. But also, there’s a lot of uncertainty and it takes initiative to get the momentum going. I think we need to make it clear that we are being elected to serve the DAO and not for our self interests. I want us to be the stewards who help recruit and support the next group of stewards and develop teams to take ownership of the DAO.”

4. Where do you see the WG framework a year from now?

“I hope to see more members rally together and create their own focus driven Working Groups. Our goal is to experiment and utilize this format so that the process is simplified for more participants. One of the best parts of web3 is our ability to expand beyond the limitations of job titles and physical locations. We have access to the most innovative and collaborative builders at our fingertips, and I hope we have the framework strong and efficient enough to guide them through the proposal process so they can focus on building.”

5. What would you like to accomplish as a WG Steward?

“I’m happy being a test guinea pig of sorts for the DAO. Let’s stress test this structure. Follow the guidelines, stay compliant and see how we can improve and also inspire others to want to do this job. Afterall, autonomy is the goal here and in order to put the D in decentralized, we need people.”

6. What makes you different from the other candidates?

“Well, I have a uterus. That’s the obvious difference haha. I could bring some of that divine feminine energy to help nurture our goals and embrace our differences. I think in order for this DAO to be successful, we need to cast a larger net and be aware of more perspectives. I helped build the Ladies of BAYC community from the ground up and I see firsthand the powerhouse of women we are fortunate to have in our ecosystem already. My goal is to onboard these women to participate, make meaningful contributions, and have a positive impact on blockchain culture.”

7. Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?

“A big shoutout to all the Governance Steward nominees - AllCity, Buuvei, CEO, Evil, Lola, Sasha, SSP, Sword. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with anyone from this group.”

The window to vote in the ApeCoin DAO's Working Group Steward election opens on June 15th, and $Ape holders will have until June 21st to cast their votes and support their preferred nominees. After the first round of voting, the top five nominees with the most votes will proceed to the second round of voting and officially become candidates. The DAO will then conduct one more election from June 22nd to 28th, during which the community will elect its two Stewards.
