ApeCoin DAO Contributor Topshot has been going hard in the paint for Web3 since 2021 when he scored his first NBA TopShot moment. Since then, Topshot has become more involved in games, art, and real-life Web3 events. Now, Topshot is shooting his shot at the ApeCoin DAO and is looking to secure a position as one of the DAO’s first-ever Metaverse Working Group Stewards!
The winter election season of 2023 is underway at the ApeCoin DAO, with 12 contributors officially running to be the community’s first two metaverse working Group Stewards.
Among the candidates vying for this position is Topshot!
“My motivation to join the Metaverse Working Group stems from a deep love for gaming, art, and a commitment to community support,” Topshot wrote on his candidate page. “I envision a metaverse where creativity flourishes, gamers thrive, and artists are celebrated. I am dedicated to leveraging my passion for web3 games and art to not only enhance our collective experiences but also to actively contribute to initiatives that uplift and assist others within the Apecoin DAO community.”

1. In a sentence or two why are you running for this position?
“I am running for the Metaverse Working Group because I am deeply passionate about cultivating a dynamic metaverse community. With a background in web3 games, art, and NFTs, I aim to contribute my skills to drive innovation, foster inclusivity, and shape a thriving ecosystem within Apecoin DAO. “
2. What is the metaverse? How do you define it?
“The metaverse is like "Ready Player One" come to life, offering a virtual realm where users immerse themselves in a shared digital experience. Just as in the novel, it's a dynamic space for social interaction, gaming, and diverse activities, shaping a futuristic and interconnected online world.”
3. What is the purpose of a Metaverse Working Group?
“The Metaverse Working Group serves as a collaborative hub within Apecoin DAO, focusing on shaping and enhancing the metaverse experience for the community. Its purpose is to drive innovation, foster inclusivity, and contribute strategic insights to ensure Apecoin DAO remains at the forefront of developments within the evolving metaverse landscape.”
4. What would you like to accomplish in this role?
“In this role, I aspire to enhance Apecoin DAO's metaverse community by fostering creativity, driving innovation, and establishing strategic partnerships for an enriched user experience.”
5. Why are you the right person for the job? How has your past experiences prepared you for this?
"I am the right person for this role because my extensive gaming experience brings a deep understanding of user engagement and dynamics within virtual spaces. Having played many games, I possess insights that will contribute to shaping a vibrant and immersive metaverse community within Apecoin DAO.”
6. What kind of budget do you plan to ask the community for and how do you plan to get it passed?
“I would propose a budget that accommodates engaging gaming experiences within the metaverse, incorporating giveaways and awards for participants. This could include allocating funds for NFT giveaways, in-game assets, and prizes, ensuring a dynamic and rewarding environment for everyone involved. A budget that allows for these incentives will enhance user participation and contribute to the overall success of our metaverse initiatives.”
7. What does success look like for this Working Group and where do you hope to see this group a year from now?
“Success in the Metaverse Working Group would be characterized by a thriving and engaged metaverse community within Apecoin DAO. Key indicators include increased user participation, positive feedback, successful implementation of innovative initiatives, and the establishment of strategic partnerships. Success also involves fostering a dynamic ecosystem that embraces creativity, inclusivity, and continuous evolution, ensuring that Apecoin DAO remains a leader in the ever-evolving metaverse landscape.”
8. Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?
“While my background may not be the most traditional or professional, what I lack in formality, I make up for in passion and dedication. I am committed to giving my all to the Metaverse Working Group, leveraging my unique experiences and enthusiasm to contribute meaningfully to the dynamic growth of Apecoin DAO's metaverse community.”

The window to vote in the ApeCoin DAO's first round of Metaverse Working Group voting opens on November 30th, and $Ape holders will have until December 6th. to cast their coins in support their preferred nominees. After the first round of voting, the top five nominees with the most votes will proceed to the second round of voting and officially become ApeCoin DAO Metaverse Working Group candidates. The DAO will then conduct one more election from December 7th through December 13th. During this second vote, the community will officially elect its first two Metaverse Working Group Stewards!
