Say goodbye to gas wars and botted public mints because Yuga Labs is about to bring a whole new meaning to a first come, first served NFT drop!
On Friday, Yuga Labs’ all new metaverse minting experience held entirely on Otherside continues with a live scavenger hunt style event where 20 Daniel Arsham Voyager Bots will be available to the first 20 players who can find the collection’s secret minting location hidden somewhere across the metaverse!
“We've coerced Customer Service into releasing 20 Access Passes for public which will be claimable in Otherside at an undisclosed location on May 8th around 12 PM ET,” Yuga Labs teased from its Otherside page.
This means everyone, whether it’s your first day on Otherside or you’ve been a Bored Ape Yacht Club member since mint, will have an equal shot at minting an Arsham Voyager Bot for $200 USD worth of $Ape, an all new collectible currently reselling on the secondary market for around 7,750 $Ape, or roughly $1,200 USD!
“This is how you do the public mint,” BAYC member Marcel wrote. “Not some bots war! Hidden undisclosed location somewhere inside the metaverse, with neither gas war nor advantages for bloody bots! Absolute masterpiece of an experience Kudos to Yuga.”
As the Gazette previously reported, Arsham Voyagers is a 300 piece collection of bots inspired by contemporary artist Daniel Arsham’s signature “Fictional Archaeology” style, which reimagines present day and futuristic objects as relics from a forgotten past.
“Each type carries the material language of Arsham's physical practice, not cosmetic differences but the continuation of a two-decade artistic investigation into what materials look like when time acts on them,” Yuga Labs previously wrote.
But minting these NFTs is just the beginning.
Once holders receive their Arsham Voyagers, the bots will enter a perpetual system of change where holder decisions and in world quests will determine how the characters evolve over time.
“Every Arsham Voyager starts at its default Form stage. From there, four stages are possible: Fracture, Erosion, Ruin, and Rebirth. The stages are unlocked through in-world quests that will become available in the weeks following the drop. Your Voyager carries a Kodacam. Use it to decode hidden messages throughout Otherside. Each message unlocks the next stage. Rebirth brings it back, not restored but changed.”
