MIX& MATCHING IN THE METAVERSE: Yuga Labs CEO Garga Says Otherside Builders Can Use 3D Models Assets From One Otherdeed On Another!

From the desolate dunes of Bones to the lively lands of Jungle, and every one of the 29 Otherside environments in between, each land comes with its own set of 3D model assets exclusively available to its holders. But just because an asset belongs to one environment doesn’t mean holders can’t use it on their other Otherdeeds!

On Wednesday, Yuga Labs CEO Garga dropped major Otherside alpha during his Discord Q&A, revealing that mixing and matching land specific assets across all the Otherdeeds a Voyager owns is possible!

“If you're building in the ODK and have different environments, you'll have access to all the 3D models for each of the environments you own,” Garga wrote. “So yes you'd be able to mix and match 3D assets in the ODK.”

 

 

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Yuga Labs recently gave Voyagers their first look at some of the nearly 1,000 Otherdeed assets they’ll be able to build with when their individual plots of land open up later this year.

At this time, we don’t know everything about building on Otherside or exactly how mixing and matching 3D-modeled assets across biomes will work. But we do know that building out an Otherdeed will happen in game, will be easy, and won’t require any coding experience!

“If you own an Otherdeed, you are not going to need to build your Otherdeed from scratch,” Garga said during a recent Meet at the Clubhouse space. “You will be getting your Otherdeed from us and you can image can of customizing and terraforming that land a bit in game, not in the unreal editor... You can imagine putting up your four walls and decorating your space in a way that anybody who knows how to run a computer game should be able to do… You’re not going to need to be an Unreal expert to build, decorate, and enjoy your Otherdeed.”
