MUDWATER MAREKT MAKER: BAYC Member GrimyFrankie's Card Shack Is Open For Business!

Bored Ape Yacht Club member GrimyFrankie's Card Shack is open for business!

It's been just over a week since Mudwater made its debut at ApeFest 2026, and BAYC member GrimyFrankie has wasted no time turning cardboard into cash, buying up unwanted cards in bulk and reselling them through his TradingCardSets eBay shopt as becomes a Mudwater market maker!

“I decided to go hard in this because I can see massive opportunity in bored ape trading cards,” he told the Gazette. “I know enough about cards and if I don’t help make the market and the secondary economy someone less experienced will. “

For GrimyFrankie, buying, selling, and collecting trading cards is nothing new. Since 2021, he's moved more than $5 million worth of Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, developing an eye for arbitrage opportunities and turning collecting into a career.

And now, he's bringing that experience to the swamp!

In just over a week, GrimyFrankie has already bought and sold nearly $6,000 worth of Mudwater cards and packs, and he believes the game's phygital nature will make it ripe with oppurtunities!

“I’m incredibly bullish on the way physical to digital we’re setup, the delayed physical claim, the warehouse full of card openers and sorters,” he said. “The speed at which the booster boxes have achieved such a high price, the cultish and hardcore collector energy of yuga’s community. I think there will be tons of arbitrage opportunities between marketplaces, digital/physical cards and sealed products for investors that are quick and paying attention.”

As the Gazette previously reported, Yuga Labs stealth launched Mudwater, in partnership with Orange Cap Games, during ApeFest 2026 at Beeple Studios last week.

To celebrate the launch, everyone in attendance was gifted a Mudwater game set featuring a box containing 24 packs of cards. Meanwhile, every Bored Ape and Mutant Ape was airdropped 10 packs per BAYC and two packs per MAYC they hold!

As of Sunday evening, GrimyFrankie has a standing offer to purchase unwanted Mudwater cards, paying $1 for commons, $3 for rares, and $6 for holos!

He's also opened up his very own website dubbed GrimyFrankie’s Card Shack, where collectors can purchase physical Mudwater singles, packs, and booster boxes which offers free U.S. shipping on qualifying Mudwater orders and singles priced 10% below eBay comps! The Gazette will continue to follow GrimyFrankie's as he becomes Mudwater's market maker. Stay tuned for updates!
