The HV-MTL reboot continues as Gabe8bit announced his departure from the project, with HV-MTL owner Adam Weitsman stepping in to take over day to day operations and work more closely than ever with Yuga Labs to make the bots an important part of the metaverse.

It was a heavy day in the world of HV-MTLs after Gabe8bit confirmed his departure this morning, just one day after the reveal of HV-MTL Pets.
“Hey Guys today is my last day in Hv-MTl thank you for everything,” he wrote on Discord.

While neither Gabe nor Weitsman elaborated on why the departure is happening now, Weitsman thanked Gabe for helping build the project to this point and said he has big plans for the bots moving forward.
“I have great plans for the collection and now will take an active role,” he wrote. “My focus right now is being an important part of Otherside. The project will be epic. Only wish Gabe the very best…. Im taking the project on from here. I originally brought Gabe on and appreciate his efforts. I got this … Gabe really great guy and he will do great things. I’m all about being positive. No negativity here. I had taken a back seat role before this. No longer. Time for me to get involved. Excited for the future.”
As the Gazette previously reported, Weitsman purchased the HV-MTL collection from Faraway Gaming Studios back in September 2025.
Since then, HV-MTL holders have been invited to reactivate their bots and given a choice: upgrade them to their highly anticipated EV02 forms or burn them in exchange for an HV-MTL Pet, a rare new secondary collection.
With Gabe stepping away and Weitsman stepping in, HV-MTL is entering a new era, one that could tie the bots directly into the Otherside.
Tonight, we don’t know everything Weitsman has planned for HV-MTLs, but we do know he’s working closely with Figge to make their debut on the Otherside something “epic” and ensure they play an important role in the ecosystem.
“I have gotten an inside look at otherside. It’s better than I have ever imagined,” Weitsman wrote. “It’s important that we are there. That is the priority and focus. The good thing is now we don’t have to guess about otherside. I have a seat at the Yuga table to share with all of us. Figge has this firing on all cylinders. I have been quiet on my X about Hvmtl as I wanted Gabe to shine and get all the accolades. My turn to take the wheel. I’m rested and ready.”
