OH CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAIN: BAYC Member Captain Trippy Bought A Bored Ape From TokenWorks’ $APESTR “For the Culture.”

Things were anything but boring around the swamp yesterday after longtime Bored Ape Yacht Club member and former ApeCoin DAO Special Council member Captain Trippy returned to the timeline with a strategic primate purchase that was “for the culture.”

On Saturday, Captain Trippy added an Ape to his NFT collection for the first time since 2022, buying Bored Ape #2737from TokenWorks’ $APESTR contract for 9.73 Eth or $44,800 USD.

 

Remember, when someone buys an NFT from TokenWorks’ NFT Strategy contracts, the proceeds are used to buy back and burn the coin. So Captain’s Ape purchase burned nearly 2.8 million $APESTR tokens; so everyone holding the coin can thank him for his service!

With things like $APESTR popping up organically, ApeCoin’s Project RAID, short for Rapid ApeCoin Integration Deployment,  bringing $Ape to Solana and HyperLiquid, and ApeFest 2025 right around the corner, Captain Trippy said this is the most bullish he’s been on Apes and $Ape in a while.

“I look at this as all roads leading to Otherside and easy accessibility to what could be the biggest protocol in web3 history,” he wrote in a lengthy post. “A token that is a meme, native chain token + gas, and the currency of the foundation for the largest swing by far we’ve ever seen taken on a decentralized metaverse. The potential was and is MASSIVE."

 

 

“I feel the calm before the storm,” he continued. “I own more $ape coin now than when I left, and will continue to accumulate $ape, deeds, Koda’s, BAYC/MAYC, anything I can get my hands on. The team has been punched in the face over and over and yet they get up, and keep grinding, keep building, and see the vision of what’s to come.
