ON THE BALLOT:AIP-179 Aims To Make Bored Ape Yacht Club Themed Trading Cards.

Get out your penny sleeves and top loaders, there is an Ape Improvement Proposal on the ballot this week that aims to make a collection of Bored Ape Yacht Club themed trading cards.

AIP-179 titled “NFTCG Generation 2 - ApeCoin DAO Physical & Digital Trading Card Game,” is an ecosystem allocation proposal written by ApeCoin DAO contributor Lycaon.Eth.

In AIP-179, Lycaon presented the idea of a Physically Backed Token (PBT) trading card game featuring Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs.

“Each physical trading card will contain an immutable private key that ties itself to a token on the Ethereum blockchain,” Lycaon.Eth explained. “This not only allows for immediate authentication of every physical trading card, but also allows for future on-chain interaction in order to play NFTCG within the Otherside.”

In total, Lycaon.Eth is asking the DAO to allocate $55,885 USD worth of $Ape to this project so they can produce 1,000 packs of six trading cards featuring 55 different Bored Apes card art designs.

Lycaon.Eth and his team will then sell each pack of cards for $15 USD worth of $Ape and 5% of all revenue generated from this collection, and any future Yuga Labs themed collections, will go back to the DAO.

“Bored Ape Yacht Club has consistently proved themselves to be the industry leaders of Web 3.0, introducing revolutionary ideas to the space and serving as a beacon for mainstream audiences to onboard into the ecosystem,” Lycaon.Eth wrote. “Recently, the Azuki team released a CC0 PBT contract. The BAYC community should be the ones to take this bridge between physical and digital collectables to a never before seen macro scale, with the funding of a proposal that plans to manufacture 6000 PBTs for this trading card game collection.”

The window to vote on AIP-179 opens tonight at 9 P.M. EST and $Ape holders will have until May 24th to cast their coins.
