ON THE BALLOT: This AIP Aims To Make An Animated Show& Comic Books Based On $Ape

This Ape Improvement Proposal aims to ‘bash’ Hollywood and culture with an animated series pilot episode and three spin off comics based on $Ape and the lore around the coin!

AIP-279 titled “Bored Apes Storm Hollywood (BASH-AIP): Expanding the Ecosystem with Battle-tested IP Veteran and the Batman Producers,” is an ecosystem fund allocation proposal written by longtime Bored Ape Yacht Club member and Myth Division Founder, AmericanApe AKA Ramón Govea.

“The proposal presents a novel way to expose ApeCoin outside of Crypto Twitter, integrating it into mainstream comics, animation, and web3 gaming while directly involving ApeCoin DAO community members,” Govea wrote. “It seeks to increase the token’s utility, provide innovative licensing opportunities, and enhance the ApeCoin ecosystem by taking it to a mainstream fandom that already enjoys anime, comics and gaming culture, namely those who appreciate collectibles more than any other demographic.”

In AIP-279, Govea asks the DAO for $300,000 USD worth of $Ape so he and his team and create an animated pilot episode and three spin off comic books based on ApeCoin!

“The proposal aligns with ApeCoin Community’s overwhelming desire to integrate blockchain technology with traditional Hollywood storytelling, fostering engaging content that resonates with a diverse audience and strengthening ApeCoin’s position within both the metaverse and its exposure to the real world,” Govea explained.

Along with the creation of $Ape themed content, Govea also wrote that every ApeCoin holder will be able to mint an NFT of a short ‘animated loop’ from the show to commemorate the pilot episode. Further, the three comic books will be available to mint exclusively in $Ape.

Govea believes that it will take roughly 16-19 months, or less, for him and his team to create a 20-22-minute-high quality animated pilot episode for the DAO. “ The sooner we can finish the better, but we will not sacrifice quality and are using our short proof-of-concept as a bar for quality,” Govea wrote. “After successful production and the right showrunner attachment, the goal is to leverage the pilot’s production quality and accredited team of Producers and Animators to secure distribution for a full eight to ten episode animated season on a major streaming platform.”

The window to vote on AIP-279 is currently open and $Apes have until next Wednesday, July 19th, to cast their coins on this proposal.

The Bored Ape Gazette is working to find out more about AIP-279 and the impact an animated show could have on the $Ape ecosystem. Stay tuned for updates!
