ON THE BALLOT: This AIP Aims To Onboard Indian Builders And Artists To $Ape Via Microgrants
Updated: 7 days ago
There is an Ape Improvement proposal on the ballot this week that aims to onboard Indian builders and artists into the $Ape ecosystem via microgrants.
AIP-244 titled “DAZE Micro Grants,” is an ecosystem allocation fund proposal written by ApeCoin DAO Contributor Evil.
In his proposal, Evil explained that India is one of the largest crypto hubs in the world and that the ApeCoin DAO should work to smoothly onboard users from this community via microgrants so they can quickly ape into ApeCoin.
“India constitutes 17.7% of the global population, with 20 million+ crypto users in the country as of 2022,” Evil wrote. “We believe that ApeCoin’s growth can be increased drastically with this experiment, especially since it needs to expand to different parts of the world. Current process is time consuming and confusing to some. These micro grants will make sure that the funds are distributed faster to builders and artist all together so that they can get going with building something wonderful around $Ape.”
In total, Evil is asking the ApeCoin DAO to allocate 16,520 $Ape or $53,359 USD to the DAZE team so they can allocate the coins 10,000 $Ape to Indian builders. The rest of the coins will be used towards mentorship programs for Indian builders, in real life events, and paying the management team, according to the AIP.
“With this AIP and funds, we can fund a group of small builders and artist as well as sub-communities across India,” Evil wrote. “Once we deploy all funds via micro grants, DAZE MG can be used as a blueprint across different countries, inspiring more and more people.”
The window to vote on AIP-244 is set to open tonight at 9 P.M. EST and the Ape community will have until next Wednesday, May 31st, to cast their coins.
