ON THE BALLOT: This AIP Is Seeking 'Clarity, Fit, And Focus' For The ApeCoin DAO's Special Council

With the ApeCoin DAO’s fourth election season about to begin, there is an Ape Improvement Proposal on the ballot this cycle that’s hoping to define Special Council members' roles, put new criteria for prospective candidates, and end the council members' weekly reporting requirements.

AIP-426, titled ‘Special Council - Future Election Requirement and Role Clarification,’ is a process proposal written by ApeCoin DAO Contributor CoLossuss0x.

 AIP-426 is a threefold AIP that hopes to: 1Get further clarity that being a Special Council member is an ‘Advisory Board’ role that has no corporate decision-making power.2. Require prospective Special Council candidates to have been an ApeCoin DAO Discourse member for at least 6 months and that they have achieved at least a ‘trust level 2’ on the DAO’s Discourse. 3.End the weekly reporting requirement for Special Council members.

By Doing these three things, CoLossuss0x. believed that the ApeCoin DAO will have more clarity and better fit and focus.

“These changes aim to optimize the Advisory Board’s role within the ApeCoin DAO, promoting long-term sustainability, and efficiency,” CoLossuss0x wrote.

 

AIP-426 will not cost the DAO anything and  will be implemented for the DAO’s Winter 2024  election season.
