ON THE BALLOT: This AIP Wants The DAO To Sponsor An Upcoming University Hackathon
Web3 education community, Encode, has an Ape Improvement Proposal on the ballot this week that asks the DAO to sponsor the group’s upcoming Hackathon event!
AIP-273 titled “ApeCoin to Co-Sponsor Encode’s upcoming University Hackathon,” is an ecosystem fund allocation proposal written by Encode Operations Manager and ApeCoin DAO contributor, Katerina.
“On behalf of Encode Club, I’m excited to put forward this grant proposal for ApeCoin to co-sponsor our upcoming four-week virtual Future of Blockchain University Hackathon,” she wrote. “This global event aims to introduce sharp university students to leading blockchain protocols, providing the space for a four-week deep dive into the ApeCoin ecosystem.”
In total, Katerina and Encode are asking the DAO to allocation $25,000 USD worth of $Ape to their hackathon. For the DAO’s allocation, the community will get to set three challenges and prizes, conduct two 60-minute technical workshops, get marketing from Encode, have key speaking slots at the hackathon, and receive hiring support from Encode’s talent team, according to the AIP-273.
“Our goal is to nurture talent, cultivate an understanding of ApeCoin amongst future developers and, in doing so, strengthen the ApeCoin community. By introducing university students to ApeCoin’s ecosystem, we aim to spur innovation, encourage digital ownership, and foster community-building within the ape communities. Sponsoring this initiative offers ApeCoin a unique opportunity to engage with a global network of young, creative minds. The virtual nature of our event ensures worldwide accessibility, while its co-sponsored status attracts interest from a diverse range of hackers and developers. This approach resonates with the inclusive, decentralized ethos of the ApeCoin community and stimulates a sense of shared purpose and unity.”
The window to vote on AIP-273 is currently open and $Apes have until next Wednesday, July 19th, to cast their coins and vote on this AIP.
