ON THE BALLOT: This AIP Wants To Gamify ApeCoin Grant Funding!

Let the games begin! There's an Ape Improvement Proposal on the ballot this cycle that aims to fund projects in a gamified way using $Ape.

AIP-442, titled "Grant Ships: Accelerating ApeCoin’s Ecosystem Evolution," is an ecosystem allocation fund proposal written by ApeCoin DAO Contributor Boiler.

“Grant Ships: Accelerating ApeCoin Ecosystem Evolution aka “Ape Ships” is a proposed grants funding game specifically for ApeCoin DAO in support of ApeChain ecosystem development,” Boiler wrote. “The Grant Ships game is an “evolutionary grants meta-framework” that lets a DAO choose multiple teams of grant allocators (aka ‘Grant Ship Operators’) who compete to best allocate funds within a given domain.”

With the "Ape Ships" protocol, $Ape holders would compete against each other to allocate funding across the ApeCoin ecosystem.

To bring this kind of grant gamification to the DAO, Boiler has requested an allocation of 550,000 $Ape. Of these funds, 100,000 $Ape will go toward captaining the "Ape Ships," while the remaining 450,000 $Ape will be used to fund projects via the game.

 

“This proposal is to fund 1 round of the Grant Ships game with the option to fund future rounds if the DAO likes the program,” Boiler wrote. “The Grant Ships platform provides a dynamic, transparent, onchain and community-driven funding initiative customized for the ApeCoin ecosystem to strategically fund sectors critical for the growth of ApeChain. This process will help ApeCoin DAO discover and empower the best allocators and the best projects aligned with their mission.”

 

The window to vote on AIP-442 is currently open and ApeCoin DAO Contributors have until Wednesday, August 14th, to cast their coins and vote on this proposal.
