ON THE BALLOT: This AIP Wants To Reduce Friction In The AIP Process and Change The Voting Window From Two Weeks To One

There is an Ape Improvement Proposal (AIP) on the ballot this cycle aiming to streamline the AIP process by making the idea phase optional, allowing comments throughout the process, and reducing the two-week voting window to one week!

AIP-451 titled “Improving Voting Cycle Efficiency and Shortening the AIP Process,” is a process proposal written by ApeCoin DAO Facilitator Lost.

In AIP-451, Lost proposes reverting to the original one-week voting period, starting on Thursday night and ending the following Wednesday, instead of the two-week period established in December 2023 with AIP-362.

The proposal also suggests making the mandatory week-long idea phase optional and allowing community feedback at any stage of the AIP process.

“The aim is to reduce friction in the AIP process and better accommodate the global nature of the DAO,” Lost wrote. “Streamlining the AIP Process would help to expedite community decision-making processes, enabling the community to react more quickly to changes in the ecosystem and decide on accepting new proposals.”

The window to vote on AIP-451 is currently open and ApeCoin DAO Contributors have until Wednesday, August 14th, to cast their coins and vote on this proposal.

The Bored Ape Gazette is working to find out more about these changes and how they will impact the DAO going forward. Stay tuned for updates!
