ON THE BALLOT: This Ape Improvement Proposal Wants To Set The Guinness World Record For Largest Gin& Tonic Ever Crafted!

ApeCoin DAO members have a lot to sip on this voting cycle as they head to the polls to decide on an Ape Improvement Proposal aiming to get $APE into the record books by crafting the largest gin and tonic ever!

AIP-495, titled “Organization of the Guinness World Record Attempt for the Largest Gin & Tonic During NFT Paris 2025,” is an Ape Improvement Proposal written by ApeCoin DAO member and Gin Ape founder Makash Mak.

“We propose organizing an official attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the largest Gin & Tonic during NFT Paris 2025 in Paris,” Makash Mak wrote. “This event aims to engage the ApeCoin DAO community, foster creativity and collaboration, and increase media presence for ApeCoin and the upcoming ApeChain. The project will also help promote the ApeCoin ecosystem, creating a platform for connecting with a broad audience interested in NFTs, blockchain, and modern technologies, with the support of ApeCoinDAO, BAYC, MAYC, Yuga Labs, and Mocaverse community members.”

 

 

he current record for the largest gin and tonic was set in 2018 by bartenders in Las Vegas, who served up a 249.99-gallon drink, according to Bar Business Magazine.

 

AIP-495 not only aims to break this record but also to serve up an event that’s anything but boring. The proposal includes snacks and drinks, Guinness World Record-inspired mystery boxes, ApeCoin prizes, and more, all in the hopes of making a splash at NFT Paris and beyond.

“Our goal is not just a one-time event but to build long-term brand awareness and value for ApeCoin,” Makash Mak wrote in the comment section of his AIP. “Organizing such an event will attract media attention, translating to free advertising and increased interest in ApeCoin and its market presence. This event can also attract new investors and enthusiasts interested in unique initiatives in the crypto world supported by ApeCoin.”

 

To make this record-breaking gin and tonic a reality, Makash Mak is asking the ApeCoin DAO to allocate $204,850 USD and 10,000 $APE to the initiative across four spending tranches. Take a look at his budget breakdown below:

 

The window to vote on AIP-495 is currently open and ApeCoin DAO Contributors have until Wednesday January 1st, 2025 to cast their coins and vote on this AIP.
