OPEN FOR BUSINESS: James Hall Launches Soul Swapper, A New ApeChain Marketplace For Gobs And Mintotaurs !

From the fields of Grimold to the mountains high above, GobsOnApe Founder James Hall’s new Gobs and Mintotaur exclusive marketplace, dubbed the Soul Swapper, opened for business last night, and everyone’s invited to check it out!

Just days after Hall introduced ApeChain to a mysterious new entity known as the Soul Swapper, the being opened up shop and is now facilitating Gobs and Mintotaur trades for a 0.42% fee, which is lower than what Opensea and Magic Eden charge!

“Made https://soulswapper.xyz open for all,” Hall tweeted last night. “Alpha but wanted to get more eyes on it. If you list something low IT WILL get bought, accept an offer IT WILL go through. Feedback section open in the gobs discord.. hmm maybe i need to change discord name...”

 

 

As Soul Swapper went live, Hall joined Dutchee on a recent Ape News Space and explained that he’s always liked the idea of collections having their own marketplaces.

“You need someone or something to facilitate the buying and selling no matter what,” Hall said on a recent episode of. “Marketplaces have a place in this ecosystem. I think Opensea is incredible, Magic Eden is great, but I think the Punks were onto something when they built their own… And I’ve always like the idea of having a marketplace for your own collection because then you can do whatever you want.”

 

 

 

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Hall’s Soul Swapper marketplace was built using Limit Break’s open source infrastructure, which let him customize the platform to include features that matter to his community like Mintotaurs battle stats!

“if its enticing for folks to want to buy and sell on a platform that the creator of the platform has done to help them get even a little bit more scratch into whatever they do I think that should  be applauded,” Hall said.” LimitBreak has built everything on their to do the most basic of things. Trading listing, offers, all the basic stuff.”

 

As Soul Swapper invites the community to ape in and check out the platform in its first iteration, Hall said he hopes it inspires other collections in the $Ape ecosystem to launch their own marketplaces.

“The reason I did Gobs was because I wanted to build on ApeCjhain and see how the experience felt  and show an example of how a different mint could go… So again I’m trying to build an example that the ecosystem can build off of.. I built it to have fun. I had an idea and I wanted to put forth and conquer.. so that’s what I did.”

 

Looking ahead, Hall hinted that he eventually wants to add an escrow trading feature to the platform, where a smart contract can act as the middleman.
