OUT WITH THE OLD GOLD AND IN WITH THE NEW GOLD PLUS SOME PUNKS: Floor Protocol Founder FreeLunchCapital Sells His Gold Bored Ape For 666 Eth, Then Buys A New Gold Primate And Some CryptoPunks!

Out with the old gold and in with the new gold Bored Ape and four CryptoPunks!

 

Friday night was anything but boring around the swamp, as Floor Protocol Founder and prolific NFT trader FreeLunchCapital sold his gold fur Bored Ape #7940 to an anonymous crypto whale for 666 ETH or roughly $2,350,000 USD!

 

Bored Ape #7940 is a six-trait, solid gold fur Ape featuring a diamond stud earring and an orange beanie. Based on these traits, the primate ranks as the 31st rarest Bored Ape in the entire collection, according to Magic Eden.

 

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, FreeLunchCapital acquired Bored Ape #7940 from the now defunct crypto exchange FTX back in October 2024 for $1.4 million USD.

 

FreeLunchCapital wasn’t gold ape-less for long. Shortly after the sale, he purchased Bored Ape #3072,  another six-trait solid gold fur Ape with an aquamarine background and orange beanie,  for 129 ETH or $458,000 USD.

 

In addition to the new golden primate, FreeLunchCapital also purchased four CryptoPunks for a total of 225.95 ETH or about $796,500 USD.

 

After Friday’s sale and shopping spree, FreeLunchCapital now holds 20 Bored Apes, five CryptoPunks, a Meebit, and a Mutant Ape in his main wallet, FLC_FlooringLab, and he’s not done yet. The collector is actively looking for recommendations from the Web3 community on which other Punks to ape into next.
