Popil Is Running For Marketing& Comms Working Group Steward! Find Out Why She Deserves Your Vote:
Made By Apes business owner and artist, Popil, is looking to leave her mark on the ApeCoin DAO’s branding, PR, and culture as one of the community’s first Marketing and Communication Working Group Stewards!
After a month of Twitter Spaces, interviews, and politicking, it’s time for the $Ape community to cast their votes for the two $Apes they want to represent them as Stewards on the DAO’s newly created Marketing and Communications Working Group.
For those who are unfamiliar with this role, ApeCoin DAO Contributor and creator of the MarComms Working Group, SSP wrote that the group’s mandate was to “propose a consistent and compelling brand strategy and identity for the ApeCoin DAO, propose and implement comprehensive marketing and communications strategies, and help establish a strong presence through effective global communication efforts in order to onboard more users into the DAO.”
With that in mind, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to Popil and asked her why she’s the right $Ape for the job! Check out the full interview below:
1. In a sentence or two can you sum up your crypto journey and how you got into Web3?
“I'm an XR artist and builder. I organized NFT-focused creator communities during the early Clubhouse days, and I'm passionate about Web3 community development. I joined OpenSea in 2021 as a community manager, handling the Asian community, setting up a help center, and creating tutorials. I also joined the BAYC community and established the MBA brands BoredTea and BoredArt LLC. Currently, I'm focused on promoting MBA culture and working on Building BoredIn MBA & BoredIP newspaper.”
2. Why should the community pick you to be its Marketing and comms working group steward?
“I have extensive Web3 and onboarding experience, but I also possess a robust network. Additionally, my background in Asia and the arts will enable me to assist more artists and enhance the Asian community's AIP. I aim to establish a more comprehensive communication bridge to assist users worldwide, especially in the realm of IP branding. My skills will contribute to the improvement of the ApeCoin community ecosystem.”
3. If elected, what do you hope to accomplish in your first month?
“I will concentrate on hands-on construction because this role is entirely new, and there is a need for significant structural adjustments and strategic planning. My primary focus will be on establishing budgets, forming a high-performing team, and actively supporting them while boosting PR content. Transforming the ApeCoin ecosystem is a long-term mission, and to succeed, we must establish a stronger foundation and provide clear guidance!”
4. Why should people outside the Yugaverse be interested in $Ape?
“I believe $Ape has brought significant value to the economic system and community culture. It has also contributed to the improvement of creators and IP. Its presence holds immense significance and has driven liquidity within the community.”
5. What is your goal as marketing and comms Steward? Why should you, and why do you want to, market $Ape?
“My focus will be on promoting ApeCoin's community culture, PR, and IP branding. Most importantly, I aim to create more educational materials and onboarding tutorials. "Why me?" is a great question. I believe it's a matter of timing. My background and experience in Web3, along with my current MBA branding expertise, align perfectly with this role. I'm aware that I need to step up and take a leading position to shape a bigger vision. I may not be the only suitable candidate for this role, but I believe that the team I build will significantly enhance the overall marketing strategy for ApeCoin.”
6. Of the other candidates, who would you like to be Marketing and comms steward with and why?
“Oh ~ I love Tobi & LOR3LORD & Pequelord. They are all so talented, and I would love to team up with anyone!”
7. Who’s someone who inspires you and why?
“All of these fantastic entities, including City, Bored Ape G, Halina, Adventurous, TheHodlrCollective, SSP, Tiger, and Sera, have been a constant source of inspiration, and I've been learning so much from their experiences and achievements. I also want to express my gratitude to my sister Mumbot and the entire Ghost club. Each Ghost artist has provided tremendous support and inspiration. Together, we are fostering a vibrant and fun culture! Looking forward to building together!”

“Thank you for your support! The community truly deserves all the honor. I'm Popil, and I'm not just here to run but also to support everyone!”
