PUNKS TO PAPER: Yuga Labs Is Making A CryptoPunks Book. Here's What We Know So Far:

Yuga Labs and the CryptoPunks community are putting pens to paper six years after the project’s mint to archive the history of the collection that launched the Web3 movement!

On the sixth anniversary of the date that Larva Labs airdropped its updated CryptoPunks collection to its holders, Yuga Labs announced that it has teamed up with members of the community to publish the history of the Punks!

“The first book dedicated to archiving CryptoPunks is coming Fall 2023 published in partnership with @zakgroup,” Yuga Labs tweeted from its CryptoPunks Twitter account on Friday. “The book unveils untold stories of the collection by tapping the passionate community to contribute to the written record of Punks.”

“The project will detail every Punk, pixel by pixel, along with contributions from iconic cultural figures in web3, digital art, design, and tech, like SnowFro, Beeple, 6529, Deafbeef, the Larva Labs founders themselves, and more,” Yuga Labs wrote in a press release. “A true record of the vibrant community that helped shape CryptoPunks, the book will also feature content from the Punks community Discord and Twitter.”

One of the 34 listed contributors to Yuga Labs’ upcoming book is CryptoPunk holder AllCityBAYC, who told the Gazette that he’s looking forward to helping write the history of the punks!

“I’m usually all business and pretty even keeled, but when the Cryptopunks brand lead, Noah Davis, reached out to ask if I was interested in being one of the featured Punks it was a special moment for me, AllCityBAYC told the Gazette. “I came up as an Ape during a time when there was a lot of animosity between these two communities, so being accepted early on, long before I owned a Cryptopunk was a big deal, and something that I cherish to this day. Fast forward to now, being recognized alongside so many friends who have helped shape NFT culture into what it is today is an honor I will never forget. Thanks Noah!”
