The timeline is red, white, and bored this Fourth of July as Apes and $Apes share American flags, fireworks, and freedom!

The vibes were 1776 around the swamp on Friday as Bored Ape Yacht Club members and more celebrated the 249th anniversary of the 13 original American colonies declaring independence from the British.

To commemorate the occasion, the club’s mascot, Curtis, cracked open a beer and pulled some lawn chairs onto the dock to ring in freedom with his best doggo, Gary, by his side. “Happy 4th of July, apes.”

As the club wished the Web3 world a happy Fourth, BAYC members and friends across the ApeChain ecosystem filled the timeline with all American art, edits, and barbecues!

While everyone was touching grass, lighting fireworks, and celebrating with friends and family, BAYC member and Air Force veteran Gerry took a moment to thank those who serve, and to remind us all that freedom isn’t free.

“It's my favorite day of the year! I am so unbelievably fortunate to live in such a wonderful country,” he tweeted along with a saluting edit of his primate. “It's also the day I take to thank those fighting for the rights and freedom of others no matter where they may be.”

The Bored Ape Gazette wishes each and every one of you a Happy Fourth of July. Stay safe, have fun, and stay tuned for updates!
