Q&A: This AIP Aims To Connect Voyagers With Their Otherside Neighbors
The ApeCoin DAO is voting on an Ape Improvement Proposal that aims to make it easier for Voyagers to connect with their neighbors on the Otherside.
AIP-227 titled “Nothersight- Public Goods for Building DAOs Based On Islands In The Otherside,” is an ecosystem allocation fund proposal written by ApeCoin DAO Contributor Ayvee.
“This proposal presents a platform powered by ApeCoin that empowers community members on Otherdeed islands to form and manage as DAOs,” Ayvee wrote. “The main feature of the platform is a set of tools that enable community members to easily build, connect, and interact with one another as they manage their islands together. Through the platform, community members can find statistics and information on their desired islands. The platform also serves as a marketplace/aggregator that facilitates the process of finding and becoming a part of an island with other community members who share the same interests and goals.”
Avyee’s proposed platform, dubbed Nothersight, would provide Voyagers with all sorts of information on the Otherside islands and give holders the chance to connect and build together.
“We believe that builders are together stronger, however, smaller robust groups of builders can move faster and get things done quicker,” Ayvee wrote. “Thus, organizing these groups based on islands would be a logical step for building on the otherside.”
In total Ayvee their team are asking the ApeCoin DAO to allocate $48,000 USD to the creation of of the Nothersight platform and $2,240 USD for the first year of hosting services, according to AIP-227.
To find out more about AIP-227, the Bored Ape Gazette interviewed Ayvee about their proposal. Take a look at the full interview below:
Tell me a bit about you and how you got involved at the ApeCoin DAO?
"I have been following the Yuga eco system since the launch of BAYC but have only recently joined it through Otherdeeds. I wanted to contribute to the ecosystem in some way, specifically the Otherside and got together with a couple of friends to brainstorm what we could build prior to the ODK launch. Since our ultimate goal would really be providing services for and building with the ODK. I joined the ApeCoin DAO and read through a couple of AIPs, and started to participate once in a while and discovered many interesting ideas that people have been and are building."
In a sentence or two, can you sum up what AIP-227 is all about?
"Currently, we have seen guilds serve as a way for people and builders to connect based on shared ideals, but Nothersight aims to go beyond that by creating a platform that functions more like a faction or nation, bringing people together based on their location in the Otherside. Nothersight envisions fostering stronger bonds among builders who are located close to each other on the same island, enabling them to collaborate more effectively and create meaningful projects on the Otherside."
What would the DAO’s role in the creation of the Nothersight website be? Can you share how the site will work and what users will do on it?
"Primarily the marketplace side of the Nothersight web would be the use of ApeCoin to buy Otherdeeds. Why our own marketplace? You can't filter out all Otherdeeds of a specific island on sale with any other place."
Why does the Yugaverse need Nothersight?
"Yugaverse needs Nothersight to let the community easily collaborate based on the islands / geolocation part of the Otherside. Usually in games like MMOs you'll belong to a guild that is based somewhere on the map and the people you'll collaborate with the most are the ones closest to you. Therefore, we see this as a very powerful tool to make this process easier."
The window to vote on AIP-227 is currently open and $Apes have until tomorrow night to cast their coins on this proposal.
