Q&A: This AIP Aims To Make 1,500 $Ape Themed Seed Phrase Notebooks. Find Out More

In crypto security is key and the Apecoin DAO is voting on an Ape Improvement proposal this week that aims to help $Ape holders keep their coins safe and their seed phrases intact with a line of state-of-the-art notebooks.

AIP-241 titled “Apebook - Self-Custody Seed Phrase Notebook,” is an ecosystem allocation fund proposal written by Bored Ape Yacht Club member and Shieldfolio Founder, Stonie.

“This proposal emphasizes the importance of self-custody and keeping $APE wallet back-ups safe by offering Exclusive Apebook Seed Phrase Notebooks to DAO member participants,” Stonie wrote. “Since ApeCoin is primarily held in self-custodial wallets, securely storing wallet seed phrases is essential to minimize risks like hacks, loss, or theft.”

To keep ApeCoin DAO contributors from losing their assets, Stonie proposed that the DAO order 1,500 ApeCoin branded ShieldFolio “StoneBooks” from his company and distribute them to ApeCoin community.

These Apebooks are small, 3.5”X 5.5”, and have 80 “durable and waterproof” pages in them that can store up to 50 different wallets' seed recovery phrases, according to Stonie’s AIP.

In total, Stonie is asking the DAO to allocate $47,200 USD worth of $Ape to him so he can create and mail 1,500 books to ApeCoin DAO contributors at no additional cost to them.

Tell me about yourself and how you got involved at the ApeCoin DAO?

“Hi my name is Stonie, The founder of Shieldfolio, and full-time crypto since 2017. I am the creator of the World's Most Secure Seed Phrase Notebook for Crypto, the "Stonebook." You can thank my wife for this useful creation since she is the one who threw away my wallet keys, to begin with. Luckily it was for the best of the crypto community since it birthed the first self-custody notebook.”

In a sentence or two, tell me about your AIP and what you’re proposing.

“My Proposal seeks funding to print 1,500 Apebooks as a free-to-claim, 1 per ApeCoin DAO member. Only one ApeCoin in a wallet to become a member, and overall cost 47,200 USD in $APE.”

How are your Shieldfolio books different compared to standard notebooks?

“Apebooks will be created from stone paper! a waterproof and durable paper material that lasts a lifetime. An invisible Ghost pen marker is added to hide your writing from unsuspecting thieves. more details about similar books are at http://Shieldfolio.com”

If passed, how do you plan on distributing the 1500 books?

“If passed, Apebooks will be distributed through a token gating system on our website @shieldfolio to claim Apebooks for all active DAO members. Shipping is FREE within the U.S. Outside the U.S., shipments are subject to shipping costs.”

What should the DAO know about you and your proposal before they vote?

“A complete self-custody solution can finally be given to Dao members. The importance of the Seed phrase I can not stress enough is to be taken seriously. Keeping a hackproof backup solution for your Ape wallet is one primary key to the future of the Apecoin DAO.”

The window to vote on AIP-241 is currently open and $Ape holders have until tomorrow to cast their coins.
