Q&A: Tokenproof Wants To Build An $Ape Information Hub Inside Its App

Tokenproof, a web3 app that 'empowers brands to connect with their audiences through the power of token-based experiences, both online and IRL,' has an Ape Improvement Proposal on the ballot this week that aims to create an ApeCoin information center inside its app, in an effort to keep the community up to date on all things $Ape!

AIP-332 titled “A dedicated ApeCoin Community Hub within Tokenproof app,” is an ecosystem fund allocation proposal written by ApeCoin DAO contributor and Tokenproof CEO, Fonzgm.

“Creating a home for the ApeCoin community within the Tokenproof mobile app will help increase community participation, enable member onboarding, highlight community projects, and further incentivize ownership of ApeCoin by securing dedicated mobile real estate to distribute news, content, and experiences offered to community members,” Fonzgm wrote.

Take a look at Tokenproof's proposed information hub below:

To build this ApeCoin hub inside Tokenproof’s app, Fonzgm is asking the DAO to allocate $80,000 USD worth of $Ape incrementally to Tokenproof as they work to make this hub a reality.

To find out more about AIP-332 and why Tokenproof is the right place for an ApeCoin information center, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to Fonzgm for an interview. Check it out below:

1. In a sentence or two can you sum up your AIP?

“We would like to create a dedicated section within the Tokenproof app for ApeCoin. We believe that there's a significant number of DAO members who don't keep up with the news, AIPs, and general happenings of the DAO and therefore don't participate in it. We seek to solve some of this by putting information in a digestible and, most importantly, easy to access information hub.”

2. What inspired you to write this proposal?

“While speaking with members and also judging from my own personal experience, it was evident that information around ApeCoin is scattered in different mediums. Snapshot, Forum, Twitter, etc.. I wish I had a way to keep up with what's happening without having to go to all of these individual sources. So I thought making it part of the Tokenproof app would make sense.”

3. How many users have the Tokenproof App downloaded? If passed would the $Ape hub be on all users Apps or just those with $Ape in their wallets?

“The ApeCoin hub will be initially in everyone's app, but we will begin working on making some content only available to DAO members. The fact everyone would be exposed gives those who are not part of the DAO visibility into what is happening.”

4. What makes Tokenproof the right place for an $Ape information hub?

“I think it's a right place, not THE right place. Information like this needs to live in different places. The user should be able to choose where to access it. We think that including this in the Tokenproof app makes it easier for anyone to quickly glance and see what's going on with the DAO, all within a structured format that is easy to access and read.”

5. Where would Tokenproof get the information to share in its hub and how much $Ape content could users expect to see in the hub on a daily or weekly basis?

“We haven't determined what all content will be in there, or the frequency. But we would like to highlight as much as possible without making it overwhelming for the user.”

6. What should the DAO know about you and Tokenproof before they vote?

“I think by now most people in the community knows what Tokenproof is from our involvement with Bored Ape Yacht Club around ApeFest, and others. I would like the community to know that we're excited to push this forward and be involved in the long-term success of the DAO.”

The window to vote on AIP-332 is currently open and ApeCoin DAO Contributors have until Wednesday, October 18th, to cast their coins and vote on this proposal.

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow AIP-332 and will let you know how the DAO votes on this proposal later this week. Stay tuned for updates!
