QUIRKY CHARACTERS, BIG IMPACT: Del Mundos Donate More Than $15K To Three Conservation Efforts Chosen By The Community!

The Del Mundos are putting their people powered positivity into action after donating more than $15,000 across three conservation efforts chosen by their community!

Last week, 2,009 quirky looking, handmade characters took to the digital polls and voted to donate $2,851 to Ashden, $6,161 to Galapagos, and $6,312 to the Conservation Collective as part of the Del Mundos’ first ever CLIMETA vote!

“We're told we live in an age of indifference,” the Del Mundos tweeted. “Trust is falling. People are switching off. Not surprising really as a generation has inherited some pretty daunting economic and environmental problems. And yet… Give people identity, agency, community and a reason to participate and something interesting happens. They show up.

 

 

As the Gazette previously reported, CLIMETA is the central part of the Del Mundos’ “art meets impact” flywheel that was first announced earlier this year.

“The next stage of our evolution as an NFT collection, a brand and a community is designed to demonstrate how we can channel collective energy into something that can have a huge positive impact on the world,”

the Del Mundos tweeted at the time. “This is a live experiment where we will aim to prove ourselves through action, where each step reinforces the last and where we aim to build a system that has a strong foundation, built to last.”

 

Looking ahead, the Del Mundos hope to make an even bigger impact in the real world while empowering their community to get involved and participate in their people powered positivity movement.

“The Del Mundos didn't set out to tell people what NFTs could do,” the project tweeted. “Better to show them. This was a small experiment. But perhaps it demonstrated something much bigger: Technology doesn't create connection, purpose or positivity - humans do. But put the right technology in people's hands and it can ignite those qualities across the globe.”
