RARING TO RAFFLE: BAYC Member And OtherEggGenesis Founder Moonlyght Launches ‘RaffleOnApe’ dApp, Letting Anyone Run Provably Fair Contests On ApeChain!

Provably fair raffles are officially running on ApeChain after Bored Ape Yacht Club member and OtherEggGenesis builder Moonlyght launched RaffleOnApe, a new dApp that lets anyone run transparent raffles and giveaways entirely on chain.

In the wild casino that is Web3, fair games can be hard to come by. Memecoins get bundled, NFT mints get botted, and giveaways can be faked. While some of those things may never change, the latter just did on ApeChain thanks to Moonlyght’s RaffleOnApe!

“OtherEgg Genesis is excited to announce the release of our first dApp on ApeChain: RaffleOnApe,” Moonlyght tweeted from his OtherEgg project account. “You can now create your own raffles in minutes using any ERC721, ERC1155, or ERC20. All decentralized and verifiable on-chain. Fully functional on both desktop and mobile."

 

 

With RaffleOnApe, anyone can set up a customizable raffle using $Ape in five minutes or less,  with flexible rules and built in protections for entrants if the raffle never runs.

“With our dApp, you the raffle owner/creator can set up any rules you want,” Moonlyght said. “Prize (any NFTs or tokens on ApeChain) minimum ticket purchase, ticket price, duration, etc. And the best part is that if the limit goals are not achieved, there’s an automatic refund option so everyone is safe. And again, all is onchain, so you’re not hoping for the creator to fulfill his promise and send out the Prize, everything is automated with rules and smart contracts.”

 

To ensure raffles are fair and prizes go to a random winner, RaffleOnApe uses a native Verifiable Random Function (VRF). This system generates a truly random number that’s also verifiable on chain.

 “Unlike block hashes, which can be gamed, VRF is secure and ideal for high-stakes raffles,” Moonlyght explained.

 

Looking ahead, Moonlyght said he plans to integrate this raffle system into the broader OtherEggs project and use it for future gamified events he’s building.
